Buyer Beware and Run!!!
I bought this in 2018 with high hopes that my troublesome laundry days are over. I couldn’t have been more mistaken. Now that the warranty is ended the machine immediately stops working. A tech came to look at it and said the “motherboard” is gone and Samsung doesn’t make replacement parts. So now the beautiful, huge, wonderful, is brain dead and nothing more than hunk-o’-junk. Error code 5C and nothing can be done to fix or get it to stop trying to pump out non-existent water. Samsung doesn’t seem to give two cents about the customer experience either. So incredibly disappointed. I’d be happy to pay to have it repaired, but all the money in the world can’t fix this problem!

Washer Broke Just After Less Than Two Years
I loved this washer initially! It was great. After about 1.5 years of minima use, the washer started leaking out the bottom. Then the washer would trip the GFCI outlet for hours to days. I couldn’t even open the door to take the clothes out when it was like this. I called out a local technician to check it out. He took off the back panel and said he would not touch the washer because the issue was a serious manufacturer defect. Samsung will not cover the defect. Buyer beware!!

      Buyer Beware! Ruins clothes
we previously had a samsung w&d that we loved until dryer died and with 4 young kids thought this would be the perfect upgrade. wrong. first, it has ruined multiple loads of clothing by not rinsing well enough(possibly) and leaving blue detergent stains all over the clothes. we had to throw away pretty much my daughter's entire wardrobe due to the staining. we started doing 5 rinses, changed our detergent, and quit softener completely but the flex strikes again and my daughters "big" christmas present, a very expensive pair of leggings and sweatshirt covered in blue stains. second, i put my daughter's cheerleading uniform and warm ups in the upper washer and it completely shredded them. we checked the washer to see if there was something sharp in there but nothing.

Plastic Computer Screen Cracked during Self Clean
it was working great - so nice having "2 machines in 1". the machine alerted us that it needed to "self clean". we ran it in self clean mode and as it was finishing, i heard a noise - the plastic cracked along the side. the machine continues to work, but the screen has a terrible crack through it. so disappointed. we haven't even had this machine for a year. i have been getting the run around from samsung's certified repair company and have been told that it isn't covered by the warranty even though the machine did it to itself. be warned!

Overall a good washer, but some flaws
First off, I want to mention that some of the reviews here are for the previous model of this washer. You can see in the photos that some have physical buttons. The issues with this model don't seem to be as much of a problem with the newer model (which has touchscreen style sensor buttons). When it was first installed, it leaked out of the front. It took two weeks for samsung to send someone to repair it. I put puppy training pads underneath it for each wash though, and that was sufficient to manage the amount of water leaking so I could still do laundry while I waited for the repair technician. The washer is extremely quiet! It looks really nice and it does a good job cleaning. The top washer is a great feature, finally I can wash sports bras and bathing suit tops and have the insert pads stay in place. I read all these bad reviews about the top washer, so I've been careful to use a VERY small amount of HIGH EFFICIENCY style detergent. This is where some people have had issues. If you don't use HE detergent or if you use too much, it will foam too much. My washer came with a "pebble" for measuring detergent for use in the top washer. I fill this halfway and haven't had issues with suds overflowing and my clothes get perfectly clean. However, the seal seems quite tight, so the "overflow" issues from the suds in the top washer that many people here have experienced seem to be addressed in the newer model. Now, here is what I DO NOT like about this washer. -The measurements listed here are WRONG WRONG WRONG. I'm not sure if these are the dimensions for the old model or if they didn't include the extra inch the bubble style door adds to the front to back depth, but these did not fit in my laundry cave, despite taking thoughtful measurements to account for hoses and stuff. -You can't reverse the way the door swings open. Its fine if you can put the washer to the left of the dryer, but if you don't have that flexibility, its a bit annoying switching from washer to dryer with the door in the way. -It's a bit TOO water efficient. I've sat and watched and even after two rinses, sometimes there are still detergent suds (when using the bottom washer) left over. I use a small amount of detergent. The washer allows for you to set up to 5 rinse cycles per load, so this isn't a huge issue, but it would save some time if it just used enough water to rinse properly in the first place. -The app connectivity is worthless. There are no additional features or customization offered by the app, its literally just controlling the washer in the same way from your phone. This could be cool if you wanted to load up the washer when you leave for work and then start the load remotely a bit before you're due to get home. However, you have to press the "smartcare" button on the machine when you power it on for the app to work, so I haven't gotten the remote start to work (but I haven't tried more than once, could have been a fluke) -The settings are too rigid. Why can't I add an extra rinse when doing a delicate cycle in the top washer?? The button is there, but it won't allow you to add an extra rinse unless you are in "normal" mode. Why can't I use hot water during a delicate cycle? You don't know my life...Just let me use the washer how I want, don't restrict me from using available options just because they don't make sense. I thought the app might allow me to do things like this, but it does not. -The song it plays at the end of a cycle is too long. A simple beep or chime will do, I don't need to be serenaded for 30 seconds each time a wash is done. -The drum light doesn't stay on very long. This isn't a big deal I guess, but WHY??? Why can't I turn the lights on for an entire load? Is it really too much to ask for more than ~30 seconds of light? OVERALL This is a great washer! My clothes get really clean and I absolutely love the top washer. So far, I haven't had any issues, but time will tell. I do believe that the newer model may not have the problems associated with the previous one (maybe you should uhh separate the reviews? I almost didn't buy this thing due to reviews associated with a machine that I wasn't even considering buying). Most of my complaints are nit-picky, as long as this washer keeps working, it was a good purchase in my opinion. I'm glad I took the chance, despite the cautionary tales I read in the reviews here. So disappointed.
Less than 3 months after buying whole electrical panel had to be replaced. I was 2 weeks with no washer. Mother of 5. You can imagine, not happy. So that was the first time. Second time washer stop working was about 6 months after first time. 5 days no washer. Now I’m just our second year of having the washer two more times electrical panel issues. Now, out of warranty we got to pay out of pocket for this one. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER APPLIANCE SAMSUNG. We planned to have our whole house Samsung. Not happening now. Beyond disappointed and we will never put this amount of money into a top of line washer again. As soon as this one breaks again. Inexpensive top loader we will purchase. Hoping my review can save some money, disappointment and headaches.

well what can i say? im ecstatic about my new purchase. the flex 6.0 is amazing. i took it to task it washes perfectly and fast not to mention. it looks great and its quiet. its extremely user friendly. this is not my first rodeo with samsung washers and dryers. i can say i had my previous set for 14 years model wf317/agg/xaa. and it went out on me. so right there told me right there i would be buying another samsung w/d. however this new washer is the business. it allows you to use the top washer and the lower washer at the same time in which it saved me so much time. its a well built product i must say. i see other reviews out here with some negative feed back. im sorry i can speak to that. my experience with my old w/d "reputation" was great. back again. just updated. good job

Two years after purchasing this fine machine, I feel compelled to write a review to warn potential owners regarding likely repair costs. Almost exactly one year after it went out of manufacturer's warranty, and two years after purchase, the upper washing machine stopped working. When attempting to start a wash cycle, the upper machine displayed the error 1dC4 (the code indicating that the inner cover is not closed). When I checked on the Samsung customer "community forum", it was immediately apparent that there were other customers having the same problem. A Samsung representative on the forum was telling each customer who asked about this problem to contact them "offline". Offline, Samsung offered to pay for the service call but said that the customer would have to cover the cost of replacement parts. I soon discovered why: The problem is a small sensor switch built into the inner cover. The sensor switch failed but to replace it required replacing the entire cover at a cost of $179.00. This sensor switch failure completely disables the upper washing machine. Although this is clearly a defective switch that is failing for many customers, Samsung refuses to cover the expense involved in restoring the upper machine to working order. For this reason, I would advise extreme caution before purchasing this or any other Samsung product. When a consumer product is built with a defective part that renders it useless, I believe the manufacturer has an obligation to cover all repair expenses, whether in or out or warranty.

                      Control panel self-cracked
We purchased this washer 10 month ago and it works well. One day in the morning we found that control panel is cracked. Last evening we used it and it was OK. I guess it’s was something like internal plastic tension because it was never hit. We are always very careful. We called to the Samsung warranty department, explained situation and sent all the documents and a picture. Next day they answered that they believe it was physical damage by us and we have to fix it by our own expenses. In fact they blamed us as liars. We are very disappointed by such a service and think it was the last time we purchased Samsung appliances.

It is fun to do laundry with FlexWash
I finally replaced an 8 year old washing machine with this excellent and top of the line Samsung washing machine. After installation and a quick review of the manual we started using this washer, we have a three year old boy at home and with the second washer on top life is much easier as with any child this age or so ......... we have to "clean up" the mess that he makes and washing his cloth is easy and fast and dryer next to it is a Wonderfull addition. it is very quiet and we hardly hear its noises except when it spinning fast at the end of the cycle. Cloths are way cleaner than before, and the ability to do 2 loads at the same time is a life saver when you are in a rush. Can't explain how wonderful this product is, you have to try it to appreciate the quality built that Samsung put into making it. Highly recommended and there is noway that anyone will regret buying it. Excellent options for all kinds of cloths, it can easily fit a large blanket easily.

                          Washing Done Right!
I replaced an aging front loader with this new FlexWasher and believed the top smaller washer would come in handy and I was right! The smaller washer does excellent for my wife's hand wash and delicate garments. There's one thing I wanted to try and that was a jersey as I hate washing my stitching jerseys afraid to mess them up. I loaded up 2 of my jerseys and they came out clean with no damage! I have washed many jerseys now this way. Another great feature from my previous model is that you don't have to add waster to a reservoir to get steam. The washer uses the existing water line to get the steam going! The washer is large and tested every type of item from bedding, towels, kids clothes and denim. All items came out clean and great. I use pods and have no issues with my clothes not coming out smelling great and clean. I am happy with the washer and will continue to try all the features. There are so many from Fast Wash, Sanitize to name a couple more. The washer has smart features and can connect to the Samsung Smart Things app. My phone now lets me know when my load of clothes is complete! The machine is great to look at with the great finish and there is even a light in the drum of the washer which you normally don't see! I am reviewing as part of the Insiders Program!

                            Making Laundry Fun?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t know if it will ever be possible to make doing laundry fun, but this new FlexWash washer has defiantly brought me closer to that point. Ok, almost everyone hates doing laundry. For me doing the laundry can be tedious, time consuming, and is an interruption to the limited downtime I have on the weekends. With my new FlexWash washer I could not be happier. There are so many cool options and features that help make the chore of doing the laundry faster, better, and more convent, such as smart home integration, delayed start, being able to do 2 loads of laundry on different settings at the same time, customization options, and fast wash mode. I’m really impressed with this washer so far. On top of all the features, it is simply gorgeous to look at. This washer has truly lived up to the hype. It is saving me time doing laundry, my clothes are coming out nice and clean, and there are so many cool features. A couple of things to be aware of if you are looking at this washer. The washer itself is fairly tall. My wife is 5’4”. If we added the pedestals, it would make it difficult for her to reach the upper washer. So I don’t feel that the pedestals would be needed, unless you are tall or do not plan on using the upper washer much.

                              Top Notch Washer!
Samsung FlexWash WV9900 Top Notch Washer! Two washers in one machine! The Samsung FlexWash is one impressive machine with its black fingerprint resistant stainless steel finish. The top washer is perfect for smaller loads. Washing a muddy football uniform, delicates, bathing suits, intimate garments, active wear, baby clothes the top washer gets the job done. I use to argue with the children about washing two or three pieces of laundry, but now I just say toss it in the top washer. The top washer is 1.0 cu ft. with the bottom washer being 5.0 cu ft. The bottom washer accommodates large loads and I can even toss my king size comforter in the washer. With the FlexWash I have literally cut my washing time in half. The main washer has every setting you could possibly need. You have normal, heavy duty, whites, towels, bedding, sanitize with steam cycles, delicates, quick wash, perm press and rinse & spin. You also have five water temperatures, five rinse times, five spin, five soil, pre-soak, steam, super speed, delay end, self- clean, smart control and child lock. The upper washer you have delicate, active wear, rinse/spin, temperature, extra rinse, self- control, child lock and smart control. The upper washer comes with a measuring cup for detergent. The machine is quiet even during the spin cycle. Yes you can run the top and main washer at the same time so it most definitely changes the way you do laundry and saves time. The main washer door opening is larger making is easy to place larger laundry items in. A washer that you can control from your smartphone or tablet simply download the Samsung Smart Thing App. The smart control is amazing it allows me to control my washer via Wi-Fi, monitors the wash time remaining and alerts me when the wash is completed. The super speed is a fantastic option it speeds up the washing time without sacrificing the cleaning abilities. With the super speed option instead of 45 minutes to wash a normal load, I can have my wash finished in 30 minutes. When the wash cycle is complete the machine alerts me with a tune. Laundry is fun and no longer a chore with the FlexWash. The FlexWash has taught me how to wash laundry correctly. A little pricey but well worth the purchase. A top notch washer that will not disappoint you only impress! The design and flexibility of two washers in one is amazing. Pair the FlexWash with the FlexDry and you have the dynamic duo. I highly recommend the FlexWash.

Samsung Makes Any Laundry Day Funday!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 6.0 cu ft. Samsung FlexWash wv9900 washer is the washer you’ve been waiting for! The features are endless and the quality is second to none, which was a huge upgrade for me. We previously owned a front load washer, which was less than impressive, so I was slightly skeptical before trying out the FlexWash. All of my concerns were quickly put at ease. The FlexWash is everything that it’s advertised as and more! First, our washer and dryer are on our second-floor in-between bedrooms. Our previous washer was very loud and would make lots of noise when it would go into a spin cycle. Not the FlexWash. This washer is extremely quiet leaving me with no qualms to run a load when my son is sleeping. The VRT technology helps ensure each load is balanced and never allows the washer to become noisy during the spin cycle. With having a small child we are constantly having to do small loads of laundry because he spills something. The upper washer has been a godsend for us. We’re able to quickly do a load of his stained clothes without having to start a full load of laundry. I was nervous that it wouldn’t be as powerful because there wasn’t an agitator, but that is completely a nonissue. The top washer has been a beast at tackling stains and leaving our clothes fresh. It also does a great job with delicates as well. The main washer was a huge upgrade for us. The 5.0 cu ft. capacity allows us to wash our bedding without having to worry that the load would be too big. No longer are we having to split loads into smaller loads, because this drum can hold a lot! Just because you can do large loads of laundry does not mean the cleaning power is sacrificed. I have been extremely satisfied with how clean and fresh our clothes come out after each load. The clothes come out fresh and clean even when we’re in a crunch for time and use the speed setting. Overall, I am extremely pleased and satisfied with this washer. Not only will it work hard for you, but it will look good while doing it!

                                      Amazing Washer
I would like to start by saying that this washing machine is just hands down amazing, from its very sleek black stainless steel design to the technology packed inside. This is a front loading unit with a very large loading capacity, on top of that it also has a smaller washing unit located at the top of the washing machine for your lighter loads. This washing machine has made our lives so much easier. I have two kids 4 and 2, and they go through clothes like nothing. With the flexwash we are able to wash two loads at one time, which cuts down on your laundy time, and leaves us with more time to spend with the family. This unit is packed with technology, from its smart controls to its super speed cycle and so much more. Smart control is just an amazing option to have on this unit. It allows you to control with machine via wifi and monitor the time remaining on the cycle. It also notifies you via SMARTHINGS when your wash is done and ready for the dryer, and since our washer is located in the basement of our house, we dont have to run up and down now everytime we put in load, now we just pop open the app and bam. The super speed on this unit is another amazing option. So basically it speeds up your laundry time without cutting back on its cleaning abilities. So, on a normal wash which is about 45 minutes depending on the options, the super speed cuts that down to 30 minutes and does the same great job cleaning as it would on the normal cycle. This washing machine also comes with steam cleaning and sanatizing option, which with kids that love to get dirty is god sent. Also, i am surprised on how quiet this washing machine is, you can barely tell when the machine is running, even in the spin cycle. i cant say enough about how much we love our samsung flex wash.

                                        Best Washer on The Market!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my Washer & Dryer set for about 2 weeks now. These units are nothing short of Awesome! The washer has been a blessing for my wife and family. Since this washer unit has 2 washers built in, it’s allowed my wife to be flexible when she has needed it the most. We have 3 little kids at home all below the age of 4, accidents happen and having the flexibility to wash a super small load versus always having to use the large tumbler is a great thing to have. We have tried so many features on this washer lately and there’s still more to try. This larger washer was worth the upgrade for our larger family. We needed the flexibility while also being able to do a much larger loads of laundry to save time. Connecting this washer to our smartphones with the smart control feature allows us to once again have the flexibility we need as a family at home and on the go. This washer tells us when loads of laundry are done and ready to dry, but if we forget to do turn the washer on, (because parents never forget anything) we have been able to get it running by simply using our smartphone to do it! There are so many positive things to say about this washer that it’s hard to do a pros and cons list. This washer has more pros than cons hands down. There are 2 things that falls under the cons list for me and one is the price tag, this isn’t going to be a cheap purchase for anyone, but if you make the jump it’s worth every dollar. The second thing is standard for any front load washer, is the fact that you must leave the door open on the washer to avoid a mildew smell in the washer. Other than that, the design of this washer, the flexibility of use, the flexibility of washing options, the ability to control the washer remotely are only some of the amazing things this washer will do for your family. No question, these are the best washer & dryer sets on the market! Samsung hit a home run here.

Lots of features, looks great, huge but $$$$$
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If money is not an issue I think this is a great machine, but if you are cost conscience I think there are probably better ways to spend your money. Pros: -Lots of features -connectivity for operating the machine and trying to service it (I currently can't set up mine for some unknown reason) -huge, it can fit king size comforters -small top load washer for when you need to wash only a few things or you can wash two different ways at the same time. -seems very well build, its solid and heavy (300+ lbs) -as many button as it has its easy to use -pleasant alarm when a load is done, it's a beeping tune not an annoying buzzer -looks impressive -seems efficient -can work as fast as old washer, but i guess its not as efficient than, I don't know just guessing -there is a light in the drum -it's a little quieter than my old washer, it's not silent but I would say on the quieter end of washers. -spin drys really well, there are different setting to how fast it can spin Cons: -its huge and heavy (make install more work) might not fit is all places -connectivity setup not working for me, I have to contact support to figure it out I tried with two different android devices and it fails at two different points -It's tall, I am 6'2" and I think the top washer is high -Bottom washer is low - again low for me at 6'2" and its deep, awkward to reach the back of the drum -connecting the drain and supply lines are tough just because of the size to reach over it -can't switch the door on the lower drum to swing open the other way (the matching dryer you can on so a half win) -expensive - for most I would guess you could spend less on something else and still get a nice washer. Overall I think it is really nice, but you need to make sure you have the room for these and the money. I have only had mine a short time so I can't say how it will hold up in the long run and what it may cost to keep it running. It is definitely not going to be as easy to fix as the old washer, just moving it to do anything is going to be a job. But supposedly you can use an app to help diagnose this and have a better direction as to what needs to be done when it may need fixing. For those of you wondering I didn't purchase this it was in exchange for a review of it. But I did the install myself. The manuals are clear and easy to understand. There are a couple of typos but nothing to worry about.

This is a dream washer, truly amazing with obvious careful attention to all the small details. I've been using it several times per week for the past two months so I can give an honest and thoughtful review. I absolutely love the small washer - I use it for "that one shirt that I just have to wear tomorrow", all delicates, and workout gear. It's really helpful and I use it frequently. I also love the steam capabilities for washing and sanitizing bed linens. The large washer is huge - and fast! A typical large load is 45 minutes. There are so many customization options for each load that you can definitely get exactly what you want each and every time. And the washer is so incredibly quiet which is awesome! You should look very closely at the dimensions as this washer is very tall. I don't have cabinets overhead, but it would be difficult with standard height cabinets. I also leave the lid of the small washer open to prevent any mold growth since the basement can be a bit damp.

This washer is really large and full of technology that our old machine didn’t have. It comes with an upper and lower washer that have separate control panels allowing you to run them both at the same time. This is a big time saver in our busy household. It’s also quite smooth. You can hardly hear it running. Using the washer is simple. You will need to do a calibration before using it the first time. To do this you simply press a series of buttons that are clearly described in the owner’s manual. This helps the washer to more accurately determine the load size and improves washer performance. At that point it’s ready to use. You make selections on the control panel from left to right choosing things like what you are washing, the number of rinses you want, etc and then add detergent, bleach and softener to the dispenser cups press start. When finished the washer plays a nice jingle to alert you. It also has a self clean cycle for periodic cleaning and a cycle for injecting steam into the laundry for extra cleaning. I like that the control panel displays the time remaining on the wash. I can look to see if I have time to do other things before it completes the wash. The top washer is really handy for just doing a few items. You can use it while the lower section is running making it a big time saver. The washer also comes with an app for checking in on progress but I haven’t tried it yet. So far our clothes have came out perfect. Even the heavily soiled ones come out clean With five people in our house the capacity and water efficiency have been a really big help in saving both time and money. Outstanding!

I would have never described any aspect of laundry as ‘luxurious’ until this washer. It makes my job SO much easier! It has two ways to wash: the top wash is smaller for a quick load or for smaller special items (this feature is EASILY my favorite and most used feature. You think you won’t need it, that it’s not necessary, but you will use it. I promise). The bottom is for bigger loads, and it can really hold a lot! Compared to my last washer, it can easily do at least 1 1/2 times as much, maybe more. It has a great spin, leaving as little wetness as possible to be dried after. Upon receiving the washer, read the manual (it looks long, but it just has many languages). You can calibrate it before to make sure it accurately reads how heavy the load is. Not only that, but if you connect it with your wifi you can use your smart device to know when the load is finished. (I haven’t done this as I don’t have a device that is smart). Before getting this washer, I read a lot about others worried about mold building up in other models of front loading washers. Be sure to read the manual. It lists ways to take care of the washer as well as to prevent molding. One of which is to use the correct (not too much) amount of soap. I haven’t had anything close to being a problem so far, and don't really anticipate it. I would highly recommend getting it professionally installed, as the washer is a beast. This thing looks gentle and works gentle, but man is it heavy. We got ours installed and they were quick, efficient, and definitely knew what they were doing. Not only that, but this washer belongs with it’s partner, the FlexDry. Their doors open up to each other, and each has it’s own unique features to make your laundry day that much easier. PROS: Two Compartments (one for smaller loads), the large compartment is extra big, great spin, quiet and doesn’t shake, easy to operate, You can do two loads at one (one for top, one for bottom) CONS: Heavy (once it’s in a location, it should probably stay there), The buttons are touch sensitive and walking by and accidentally touching it may do something like turn it off. *See video for a little tour of the machine!

                                            Absolutely love it!
So through the years we have owned each one of the various types of washers. First with the traditional center agitator, then a front loader, and then a top loader high efficiency machine without the center agitator. My wife was unhappy with the top loader so she wanted to go back to the front loader. Let’s start with the appearance of the washer. I really like the modern, sleek design. The black with the stainless steel front is elegant. This is the first washer I have owned that wasn’t white. The size is definitely apparent. The washer is like a small monolith. Definitely take some measurements before purchasing. My wife, who is short, thinks that using the washer with the optional pedestal would raise the washer too high to use the separate top washer easily. Buttons are very accessible and the design of the division between the top washer and the bottom washer controls is subtle and I like the way they positioned everything. Lower washer door is not reversible although the door on the matching dryer is. Soap compartments are easy to fill and to clean. Has separate child locks for little people with wandering hands on both washer control sections. I find that this washer is quieter during operation than my last washer and the end of cycle sounds are more pleasant and not as harsh sounding. Clothes come out untangled and well spun out. Manufacture recommends using 2/3 of the normal amount of HE detergent. The washer has a self cleaning cycle for both sections that does not require added bleach or another cleaning agent. It also informs you when to run the self clean cycle after 20 washes. There are special instructions for cleaning the washer gasket (diaphragm) with a bleach solution. I find wiping down the excess moisture after each load, leaving the door open, and running the self clean cycle really helps keep the washer clean. One of my favorite things about front load washers is the ability to easily wash bedding. This washer has a towel setting along with a separate bedding setting instead of the standard “bulky” setting. Front loaders also tend to not get out of balance when washing the heavy bulky items. As with most modern appliances and gadgets, I highly recommend reading the owner’s manual before doing anything. This washer requires a calibration set up before first use. It is described in the manual and the instructions were easy to follow and the process didn’t take very long. The top washer section holds more clothes/items that I thought it would. Guidelines are described in the manual. Fewer setting options for the cycles but sufficient for general use. I only wish a soak cycle was included. Top washer has a separate lint filter that is easy to remove and clean. One of the things I find myself doing now that we have a smaller separate washer on top is I now actually separate out my whites and will wash a whole load of undershirts with bleach instead of just throwing them in with the main load. They are now coming out much whiter and cleaner. Before I was too lazy to bother separating the two. I also find myself washing our new 32* Cool active wear shirts all together in the small top washer on the active wear setting rather then throwing them in the main washer. They come out with a lot less lint on them now and look much better when removed. It’s also nice to be able to throw a small load of dishtowels in when ever we want. In the past we would let them pile up. Now we can run a small load anytime. The ability to wash the delicate items above while washing the rest of the clothes below is a great feature. The rinse/spin cycle in the above washer is another great convenience. Now for the smart connect. I love gadgets and have other devices in my home that I can control through apps on my cell phone. The app for the washer was easy to install and set up. The washer itself has to be powered on and in smart connect mode to be controlled by the app. I found this not really a needed option for me and will not be using it. My wife is home most of the time so it’s not really necessary. Other people might find this a great feature. In viewing the pictures below our laundry hook ups are reversed so the doors don't open "normal". In our house the washer hook up is on the right and our dryer hook up and vent is on the left. This set is designed to have the washer on the left and the dryer on the right. We went ahead and flipped the dryer door to make it easier to shift loads from the washer to the dryer. The door on the washer is NOT reversible. All in all it really is not a problem shifting loads between the two (as you can see in the final picture). Two other things we had to do was put a door stop on top of the door going out to the garage so that the door would not open far enough to hit the door knob into the dryer door. On the other door going from the house into the laundry room I was able to put one of the those simple spring door stops on the base board to stop the door from opening far enough to hit the washer. This is something to think about because they need 6" of clearance behind them. They stick out a little further then our previous washer and dryer and I firmly believe the old saying "an once of prevention is better then a pound of the cure". I can only imagine what the cost of a new washer or dryer door is ;o) All in all we are very, very happy with this setup. We find having the small washer on top a great bonus feature that is definitely getting used. At first glance you kind of think of it as more of a novelty but once you have it we can't picture having a washer without it. It is just too convenient to not use it.

Plenty of cycles, plenty of load options.
This review is for the Samsung FlexWash WV60M9900AV that I was given an opportunity to check out. The FlexWash offers a top load washer (1 cubic foot) for small loads and a front load washer (5 cubic feet) for larger loads. The washers are independent; you can run one or the other or both simultaneously. My wife loves the top load washing capability; frequently she has small items to wash and she can use the top loader instead of firing up the bigger front load drum. (Samsung offers a matching dryer, the FlexDry DV60M990; it also has both top-loading and front-loading capabilities. Reviews on that are on the H/D website). One caution – do not toss ANY of the packing away or allow the installation crew to haul away the packaging until you’ve verified that all of the required bits and pieces are accounted for. The top washer has a removable soap dispenser (SEE PHOTO) and it can easily be lost. Controls are on a front touch panel; there’s no need to push heavily on a setting, a light touch will do. Our washer didn’t come with the optional 6” stand, but I heavily recommend that accessory if space allows. The top load feature requires enough room to swing the door up so if you have overhanging cabinets as we do there may not be sufficient clearance. The washer (without the stand) measures 61 inches tall with the top lid open. Without the additional 6” that the stand brings to the party the distance from the bottom of the drum seal opening to the floor is 15 inches and requires bending down to remove the clothes from the front loader. I’ve not found it much of a chore, but YMMV. The reverse is true of course – if you add the 6” pedestal then you’ll need to reach 6” higher to access the top washer. The washer performs admirably – we’ve not had any issues with clothes (or towels or sheets, etc.) not coming clean. It requires HD – read the owner’s manual for recommended amounts of detergent, bleach, and fabric softener. For stain removal, the steam feature works really well. If you have the matching dryer a water line runs from the washer to enable the dryer to have steam capability as well. There are a number of variables available for each cycle, so you can pretty much tailor what you want to do for each load. (SEE PHOTO). The machine is quieter (using either front or top loads) than our previous washer, which was a top loading high efficiency unit. We’ve encountered no problems with off balance loads (our previous top load washer would sometimes have a difficult time balancing towels in ‘high spin’ mode. The Samsung doesn’t seem to have any problems getting things right no matter the spin rate. Floor vibration (we have a first-floor laundry on wooden floors) is negligible; the washer weighs in at 306 pounds. One thing to be aware of – when opened the front-loading door tends to be wet and may drip onto the floor. This isn’t a defect, just the nature of front loaders. I recommend that after use that the front door and rubber seal be wiped down and the door left ajar to allow the seal to dry. While the materials used are obviously a step up from our first front loader, the seal can still stain and the washer maintain an odor if not allowed to dry out a bit when not being used. The internal drum light will go out after a couple of minutes even with the door left open. The front-loading door is not reversible; it opens right-to-left when you’re facing the washer. The top lid, if left open to allow the washer to dry, can come down with quite a ‘thud’ if accidentally pushed. I use a rolled up dishtowel to keep a gap in the top lid which allows drying but doesn’t keep the lid in a precarious position. SEE PHOTO. The user’s manual lists recommendations on cleaning the washer and there’s a ‘clean me’ light on the washer control panel that will remind you to clean the machine every 20 washes. The user’s manual also lists other tricks for maintaining the washer in its best condition. There’s a “Smart” app that allows you to control the washer using a smart phone, but I couldn’t get it to work on my Android. That’s probably more the fault of my smartphone than the app, reviews on the app itself seems to indicate that it may be smartphone model or operating system specific. I’d like to have seen it working, but it’s not a down stroke on the washer for me; I have no real need to have remote access to the machine. YMMV. Samsung offers a 1 year parts and labor warranty on the entire machine, a 1 year guarantee on the control board (not including labor), 3 years warranty on the stainless steel drum (not including labor) and 10 years warranty on the direct drive motor (part only). This is a top end washer with plenty of options, so I recommend a thorough reading of the user’s manual before the first use of the machine. Of course, I can’t comment on long term service – only time will tell on that score – but for capability, available options, performance, and flexibility this new Samsung rates a full five stars. HTH Regards, Jim

This thing is awesome. We upgraded from one of those white boxes to this beast. This is 2 washer in one. The large five cu. ft can wash everything like your comforter and blankets. Then there's the small one cu. ft upper washer that can was things you need right away. There are tons of features like steam wash, Wi-Fi, self-clean and many more. It's high-efficiency so you will save on water.

                                            THE FUTURE OF LAUNDRY
This washing machine is built to impress and that it does. It is so beautiful to look at, I now need to remodel my laundry space in my garage to bring it up to this washers standards. The "black stainless" color is beautiful. I also like the blue lights. The touch controls are simple and very responsive. The best part of this washing machine is the small wash compartment on the top of the machine. You can wash two loads at once! There are even multiple setting options for top wash. The bottom wash drum is huge. it includes settings like steam, bedding, sanitize, delicate, quick cycle and more. You can totally customize you laundry cycle to your preferences per load. You can add extra wash and rinse cycles if you like. I also really like that there is a light inside. The one down side is that you still have to leave the door / top open to let it dry completely so you don't get mold/mildew. Another thing I did not like is the "child safety" feature on the pump drain. It was very difficult for me to open and close. I did call Samsung and the customer service was great. They will send me a new one, incase my is defective and if that doesn't work, I can order a replacement with out the safety feature.

Hinges made of plastic, designed to fail. Why Samsung? Why are you so dishonorable to your country and your customers. Samsung is repeatedly trying to screw over its customers by designing products that fail.
