3/4 inch. Brass Push to Connect PVC IPS 3/4 inch Male Pipe Thread Adapter) - I am very please with male adapter product. I am remodeling a house converting missing and old copper tubing with PEX. This product has the durability I would expect from Homey Depot supplies. I does install easily like standard PEX products. I received the product in November 2018 and quickly installed and these couplings have been working fine with tightness and no leaks. It have bought additional products from HD vs plumbing supplier

I wouldn't plumb a house with these (cost), but they are really handy for repairs and special situations where sweating is tough or a hazard. It's nice that you can quickly assemble pipe and fitting and pretty easily remove a fitting if needed. I try to not to remove them as the retainer has a tendency to scratch the pipe and can effect the sealing. You do have to be more careful when prepping the pipe the fitting is going on so there are no sharp edges that can cut the o-ring in the fitting. the o-ring can be replaced but it's not the easiest thing to get out and back in without the right picks or o-ring tools. I do worry how these will seal over time, so I don't bury them in walls where a leak would cause major damage before its evident. The really nice things is being able to make a repair when a valve won't fully close.

This unit should be a workable solution to connect PVC to copper pipe. If the unit is stabilized by fastening it to a reasonably supported metal fixture and there is not a lot of force applied to the joint, it should be relatively stabilized over time. I have a concern with PVC getting brittle over time and snapping off, but I do not see that as a fault of this adapter.

Especially for people who are adverse to soldering, this is a great product. On this particular piece, you put the threaded end into a pipe connector using the normal pipe tape or pipe thread putty and, then, the best part, you only have to cut the end of your copper, PVC, or PEX pipe so it is straight and smooth and push it into the fitting. Note that the package indicates that you shouldn't use a hacksaw to cut the pipe that is going into the press on part of the fitting as those burs left by the sawing could cause a leak. Also, this particular fitting is suitable only for certain types of plastic pipe, which is indicated on the package, so make sure you are using the right pipe for the fitting. Basically, you need a strong, hard pipe, so schedule 40, 80, and 120 PVC pipe (the thick walled pipes), schedule 40 & 80 CPVC and copper pipe works well. It does not work with galvanized pipe, except for the adaptors with the thread end. Just don't push the galvanized pipe into the end that isn't threaded. The nice part about the "SharkBite" connectors is that they can be removed using a special little tool also available at Home Depot and I have seen some packages of these connectors actually coming with the tool packaged with the connector. People have also asked if you can use it in travel trailer connections (smaller sizes of course than this one) and I have used them in my travel trailer with great success. When installed correctly, they don't vibrate out and haven't leaked in the 6 seasons I have used them in the trailer. If you have ever tried to "de-solder" a connection when working on your house plumbing, you know what a pain it is to drain all the water and then dry the pipe so you can heat it up for de-soldering. With these connections, you just use the little tool to separate the connector (of course you still should turn off and drain the water out of the pipe as much as possible or be ready for a bath!). I am planning on using one of the SharkBite connectors which has a shut off valve in it on an upcoming project and am anxious to see how it performs when you have the moving lever in the connector. I expect it will work fine. These connectors are a bit pricey compared to just a copper fitting, but, the disassembly/assembly ease makes them worth it, especially if you dislike soldering, or can't get a torch into an area to heat the pipe because it is too close to combustible materials. Again, from my experiences, I would highly recommend the product.

I used this excellent and very easy to use fitting after replacing a piece of my main water line which had failed due to some DIY person not knowing that you cannot connect copper to galvanized without causing eventual corrosion. This fitting made the replacement and patch job I did go really fast. I have always had good luck with SharkBite fittings and like all of them I have never had a problem or leak with them.

The product I received is for 3/4 PVC or CPVC. to 3/4 MNPT (Male National Pipe Thread). I thought the PVC IPS (Iron Pipe) was a different material. Continue review: The push to connect does work on 3/4 PVC and CPVC.. The pipe thread ends fits 3/4 NPT fittings. I found that my copper pipe 3/4 disconnect clip was too small for PVC. I had to use the 1" disconnect clip which was loose but did work. The packaging says the possible pressure of 200 psi is the limit. I could not test that high and was concerned the metal teeth would cut into the plastic PVC pipe and it would fail. This class of connectors would make joining of sprinkler pipes much easier as they could be adjusted with rotation and could be disconnected to allow changes.

This 1 inch Brass Push-To-Connect PVC IPS X 1 inch Male Pipe Thread Adapter works well where old work needs to be up graded to present code standards. The male pipe thread feature can be installed in an already existing system and the push to connect feature using PVC then converting to whatever the existing product requirements needed. The part being made out of Brass helps out with any scaling problems that occur in close proximity to a water heater installation.

First of all, Let me say I'm a big fan of the ( SharkBite ) technology and the products they make. The technology of this item definitely makes a hard to do job very simple for you do it yourself people. Copper to PVC, just cut it flush and hold it firmly and pop it together and no soldering. It's that simple.. Awesome product when you have that hard to reach area that you need to convert to PVC.

Shark Bite push-to-connect plumbing fittings are the best thing to happen to plumbing in years! These push-to-connect fittings make a clean, water tight plumbing connection every time without question. The safety feature of these fittings is that they allow you to make solid water tight connections without using a potentially dangerous blow torch and solder. I especially like the flexibility and ease of connecting CPVC pipe to copper pipe in a matter of seconds. I keep an assortment types and sizes of Shark Bite connectors in my plumbing parts box to quickly and permanently to make a fix to a frozen water pipe that splits unexpectedly. They are professional and simple to use and makes plumbing so easy even the homeowner can fix a broken pipe quickly without the need to solder a joint together. Another great feature is the fact that these fittings allow you to quickly service and even remove plumbing devices such as whole house water filter without having to cut a water pipe.

Plumbing a snap with these connectors and threading always accurate! These connectors are easy to use as long as you cut your plastic pipe clean, the connector will hold. Started to use these for the larger piping and have had no issue. A lot of pipe bang most recently and no issue with holding. Still easy to push on and connector spins while attached for tightening any leaks missed during installation

I am giving this product a 5 star rating even though I do have some concern about how "permanent" an installation it will be. If it "lasts" without leaking for a few years I will be extremely pleased. I used this to connect a new section of Pex pipe to an existing PVC threaded connection. Installing the fitting on the Pex pipe was a piece of cake! The threaded end fit into the PVC fitting just as easily. So far no leaks but it is in a place easy to get to just in case.

One reason I like these fittings is that Brass fittings last almost forever. The other reason is that they can be installed very quickly and easily. They can also be removed easily. These fittings work well when adding a new water line to older existing galvanized pipes. Most older homes had galvanized water lines. Unless you intend to replace the entire water supply system, these work very well when you are adding a new line or just replacing a particular section. Because of the male threads on one end this will allow you to connect to an existing pipe fitting and the slip connector will allow you to connect to galvanized or thick wall PVC. Be sure to use pipe thread tape to get a good seal on the threaded end of this fitting.

The 3/4 IN. BRASS PUSH-TO-CONNECT PVC IPS X 3/4 IN. MALE PIPE THREAD ADAPTER made adding an outside faucet much easier than having to drain and then solder the pipe to the fitting. These shark bite fittings make a quick sure connection without any leaks, and if necessary they can be removed to make adjustments quick and easy.Using a ¾ inch line assured me of ample water pressure.

This adapter is a ingenious product. I was looking fir s simple way to run water in my barn with the cost of pricey cooper. This installs with such ease it’s almost too easy. The only thing I had to do for preparation to the pvc was cut it straight. That’s it. Cut it straight and just simply slide this adapter over it and PRESTO it’s done. Then I just simply hooked the other end up to my existing pipe with the threaded end and it was good to go.

Typical SharkBite quality and ease of installation. Although the product label says it is for 3/4" PVC, it is also suitable for CPVC pipe in schedules 40 and 80. PVC pipe schedules 40, 80 and 120 can be used with the fitting. (I have never seen schedule 120 PVC pipe before, but it must be out there. I wonder what it is used for?) All applications have a 200F temperature limit. There is no mention of the fitting being suitable for copper or PEX although the installation instructions mention both materials.

SharkBite works flawlessly. I cut my copper line and pop this on. It's easy with no mess or leaks ever. It's taken me some time (years) to adjust to the extra price tag these have over traditional plumbing pipe adapters.. but the time-saving & leak-proof outcomes they provide balance the extra 35% expense out (usually). Make sure you buy the 3/4 tool that removes this in case you make a mistake (they are like $1.86.. orange plastic thingy).

the original gate type water shutoff on the main water line to a house did not shut off completely. and prevented making so necessary repairs. Instead of needing the county to shut off the outside valve, I threaded a new brass shut off to the threaded end of this sharkbite, turned the gate valve, to reduce the water pressure as much as possible, cut the water line, and inserted the sharkbite.I was then able to tie it back into the inside plumbing. It made a hard job easy.

really cool product
This thing is awesome. Makes replacing outdoor PVC irrigation pipes easy. It Rotates which makes positioning pipes easy. It’s made of durable material and it is designed to be used outside. Shark bite says that it can be reused up to four times. A Little limited in the reusability, but it’s still a better option than anything else out there.

I needed a way to connect a brass anti-siphon sprinkler valve to PVC sprinkler line. PVC to brass threaded connectors always leaked because of the expansion and contraction with the temperature changes in Las Vegas. Bought and installed one of these connectors at each end of the valve. No leaks!

As a professional handyman / maintenance man, I have come to rely on Sharkbite brand connectors almost every day and am very seldom disappointed. The 3/4 IN. BRASS PUSH-TO-CONNECT PVC IPS X 3/4 IN. MALE PIPE THREAD ADAPTER is no exception. Turning a female threaded connection into a push-to-connect connection is a no brainer. I have had less leaks with Sharkbite than sweat or compression fittings, and the ability to rotate the connection is a big plus.

We have come a long way from sweating pipes. I love Sharkbite connectors. I have been using them now for 10 years and never have had any issues. This connector is perfect for attaching a shutoff valve on my main line down in the basement. Basically you just cut the pipe, debur and clean the end, and push this fitting on it. Installation is that easy, only taking a few min. I will continue to use Sharkbite products as they make easy work out of something that use to be quite laborious.

The adapter is a good piece for a tradesperson or homeowner with no practical plumbing sense. The only complaint is that PVC does vary in size in most Schedules of pipe. Schedule 40 PVC is the optimized or Type I would recommend (Which was not stated anywhere) for this transition fitting. Instructions should be written better and would lead to better understanding of just what the purpose is and correct installation of said fitting. Understanding will lead to more sales and you know where that leads.....

Quite an innovative product. When you are reworking some of the lines in a barn that have seen there better days, it certainly makes life easier than trying to sweat solder an old line covered in all of that chaff, not to say much safer in a fire hazard area. You just cut out the bad section, unthread the old connection, thread this connector in, add the splice piece, plug them together and you are good to go. You guys sure make life easier, what a time and labor saver.

I love these shark bite type adapters. This particular one has the 1/2 inch push to connect end, and the 1/2 standard pipe thread for use when connecting to brass female fittings. Obviously you should use pipe dope and/or Teflon pipe tape to seal the threaded side, but once you have done that, simply push your copper/pvc or pex pipe into this adapter and you are then done. The days of sweat soldering or using stinky pvc cement or worse yet, a compression fitting, are done when you use these fittings. I have never had this type fitting leak or fail yet in over 10 years of use, and do not expect this one to ever fail during my lifetime. Great item.

Easy to connect and it spins/swivels it connected to the pipe. This a HUGE advantage to soldering a fitting on to a copper pipe or gluing a connection. Being able to spin the fitting allows you so much versatility when making the final connection to the female pipe thread connection. As with any sharkbite push to connect item, installation is super simple. The White Collar side fits Sch. 40, 80, 120 PVC and also can be used on IPS CPVC Sch. 40 and Sch. 80 pipes.
