Used this as a single mailbox support and it works well. Set it in quick-set concrete and installed the mailbox about an hour later. I used 1.5" exterior structural screws to attach it to the post and it works well.

these embed fine into concrete forms, but the post wasn't nearly as secure as I'd prefer. I ended up cutting 5 inches of sonotube and attaching a top my already mounted post base. I then filled that up with concrete to embed the entire connection into concrete. it doesn't wobble now, but a lot of extra effort. should have just embedded the post deep into the sonotube and skipped the hardware

I recently had a concrete pad poured and the contractor set brackets for my 4x4 fence posts. To my absolute horror I am now stuck trying to figure out a way to brace these brackets for any lateral forces placed on the fence. My fence sways back and forth about as much as a drunk frat boy at his first college party. These brackets are total garbage and in my humble opinion should NEVER be used when installing above ground fence posts into concrete! Save yourself the heartache and make sure you are very specific with any contractor who bids out any concrete pad project on the type of brackets you want set. I am totally at a loss on how to brace my fence now without grinding off each bracket and replacing them with stronger ones utilizing red heads.

NEW SUMMER DYI PROJECT REPAIRING AGING WOOD DECK AT OUR LAKEHOUSE IN MICHIGAN THREE .4 X 4 WOOD SUPPORT POSTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SO I WENT TO THE LOCAL BENTON HARBOR HOME DEPOT FOR ADVICE ON WHAT WAS NEEDED TO DO THE JOB OF INSTALLING THREE NEW CEMENT FOUNDATIONS TO SUPPORT THE DECK.SALES REP SUGGESTED THE USE OF THE SIMPSON STRONG TIE AS I DID NOT WANT TO BURY THE 4 X 4 WOOD SUPPORT POSTS IN THE GROUND NOR ENCASED IN CEMENT.WE DUG THREE ,3 FOOT DEEP HOLES PACKED WITH CRUSHED STONE AND 3 BAGS OF CEMENT FOR EACH FOUNDATION.AFTER THE CONCRET SET UP WE INSERTED A PB ZMAX SIMPSON STRONG TIE INTO EACH FOUNDATION TOP TO ATTACH OUR 4 X 4 SUPPORT POST TO THE FOUNDATION ,SEE ENCLOSED PHOTO OF INSTALLATION.USING THIS BRACKET WAS A EASY SOLUTION TO MY WANTING TO KEEP POST OUT OF THE GROUND AND NOT EMBEDDED IN CONCRETE.USINGTHIS BRACKET ALLOWS ME TO REPLACE POST IN THE FUTURE IF ROT OCCURS WITHOUT HAVEING TO INSTALL NEW CEMENT FOUNDATION.A GREAT PRODUCT FOR A EASY INSTALLATION THAT WILL LAST FOR YEARS TO COME.THANKS HOME DEPOT AND THANK YOU SIMPSONS.

This is a good post base for 4x4s and 4x6s. You need to insert these when the concrete is wet. The other model with bolt should be used if not top load.

It worked perfectly. This is very easy to use and is one of many that I have used in the past to secure the bottom end of a 10 foot light post in the ground without having to permanently cement the post in the ground.

My old mailbox post was overdue for replacement. The 4x4 was reduced by rot below ground to about half it's original width and was full of termites to boot. So I set this post base in concrete and secured a new pressure treated 4x4 post to it after letting the concrete set for about 18 hours. I was a little disappointed at how flexible the resulting assembly was, much more than planting the post directly in the ground. So it remains to be seen how well it holds up in the years to come.

The product has functioned for the purpose I bought if for. Provides a strong way to hold a post.

Good design--should work well, but sooo expensive.

I have used these on several DIY projects. The have performed well.

We purchased all (7) of them you had. We needed 20. I felt the price of the item was very high. They did the job we needed done. Had to go to Lowe to buy the others.

I am trying these anchors for fences that have fallen. Drilled out rotted wood and cemented anchors on footer using existing concrete foundation. So far seems to work, fence a little wobbly, but still standing after 25 mph winds. I just purchase more for another section that has fallen. I would recommend this product.

The remainder of the order still has not arrived. Have only received 32 of the 60 we paid for.

The post-base was very easy to set in concrete. All the dimensions are convenient.

My wife loves them, after she's done with all her house work, dishes, vacuum, wash clothes, I sent her outside to start building my wonderful shed, I hope all you guys have a wife like mine, actually, she could use more work! let me know if you need a tough broad for construction .
