The tap and twist system made the baluster installation pretty easy. It worked like it was supposed to and the completed project looks good.

If you have pre-drilled 3/4” holes and a metal grinder to cut the balusters to size this project can easily be done in less than a day. Also, the instructions are very easy to read and understandable. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the bottom plug needs to have at least a metal/zinc receptacle for the top of the nut to be held in place; two of my bottom plugs stripped pretty easily because it was entirely (soft) plastic. Overall very happy, would 100% recommend.

Extremely happy with the end result. Due to the previous install, we had a lot of drilling that needed to be done (widening the holes (top and bottom) to 3/4" and going deeper to 7/8 - 1"), but once we got past that, it was all super easy. Not all of the screws were screwed all the way in, but that's a minor thing. On the Q&A, someone asked if these were sold in bulk and told no, but they do come in 30 piece Pro Packs for $49.

Very easy to use!

The stair parts worked perfectly! We cut our balusters a little bit too short. However, we were able to purchase the 1/2 inch parts which actually worked better than the epoxy! Without these parts we would have had to purchase new balusters. Our upgrade from wood to iron worked out great and my stairs are beautiful!

Easy install

This system is so awesome to use. It was easy and the instructions were easy to follow. I love DIYing a project whenever I can and this delivered the desires results I was looking for!! It is sturdy. The best part is it is not permanent. Most applications now a days use epoxy to secure the balusters to the rails. This uses NO EPOXY. That was a plus for me. If I ever decided to change them out it is as simple as loosening up the shoes (which I would highly recommend using) twisting the baluster "clockwise" and removing.

We purchased this product after researching a couple of alternatives. The product was very easy to use and apply to our project. During the project we had questions about a unique aspect regarding our railing. We contacted the Tap and Twist Company directly. Company Representative Steve Vibert called me back a short time later. Steve consulted with others and found a solution to the issue we were trying to address. It was very refreshing to see a company take such an active role in regards to great customer service. Was redoing my stairs and was trying to figure out how to install the ortimental baulesters, i happened to find these by accident at home depot. They may seem pricy, but they were a game changer,

This is a do it yourself dream. I had no difficulty completing the project and the results are phenomenal. great product!

I used the tap and twist kit when i replaced our white wooden balusters with wrought iron. This made the process of installing the new balusters much easier. My wooden ones slid into a hole under the railing and then twisted onto a double threaded screw that was screwed into the stairs. I followed the instructions and they worked great. I cut the wooden baluster, the top part slid out, the bottom had to be twisted off the screw. I was then left with screw sticking up out of the stair. I unscrewed that and then was left with a small hole. I ended up drilling out the small hole to the size to fit the black plastic seat. I also drilled out the hole on the underside of the railing a little bit to allow room for the rubber plug. You don't have to use the rubber plug, but it does make it nice and snug. Once I had the new baluster ready to go on, I would loosen up the 2 tightening nuts just barely, maybe only 1/8th of a turn or so. I would then install the baluster about a quarter turn counter-clockwise from where i wanted it to end up. Then, when I tightened it up, it would end up just about perfect. This worked pretty well. If i didn't use this kit, my other option (based on youtube videos) was putting a small screw on an angle through the bottom of the baluster and screw into the wood of the stair. I would have then have had to figure out how to make the top snug and not wiggle in the railing. I only rated a 4 out of 5 because a couple of things. The black plastic seats need to be hammered in tight and flush. The first couple of these i wobbled out the hole too much and the seat spun around pretty easily which let them wiggle somewhat. I also had a couple of other ones that didn't really tighten up all the way, so they wiggle slightly as well. But, how often do you yank on the balusters...it should be fine. Overall, I was happy with the product. It worked as intended and the directions were good. In the end it saved me time and headaches and I would recommend it.

Followed the directions and changed out my old wood balusters with new iron ones. Hardest part was pulling out the nails that held in the old ones. Really happy with the results.

This product was very easy to use, and worked perfectly. I am an avid long-time DIYer and this made the install SO much easier on the wrought iron balusters my wife wanted. Watch the videos, and follow the instructions. Works perfectly!!!

Worked will with the balusters . A nice litter kit

Worked well. The rubber tips can be easily damaged and couldn’t find replacements. Emailed the company but didn’t respond. Overall, I’m pleased with the product.

I got these thinking they'd speed up my project. We got balusters with ovals in them for design rather than straight balusters, but now they just spin if you push on one side of them. The plastic in the top has stripped out on most of them. Just cut squared dado joints and save yourself the trouble.

We are putting in metal balusters and this looked like what we would need. The problem came when we cut the balusters to the size they to make the knob looking thing in the middle of them to be in the center of the space we have to work with. Once you cut the round top end to the size and bottom, both the kits individually do not work, but it takes parts from both to make the installation. And there really is no way around it. You need the 5/8 grommet for the top and the 1/2 for adjustment.
