my handyman used this. It didn't seal a roof leak....

This stuff is very sticky. Be prepared to clean it off your everything. When this stuff is cured it becomes very rubber like. I have successfully painted over it even before it has had the chance to cure !!! The only drawback is that it is very dense and therefore takes additional effort to squeeze it out of the tube, can be warmed up to make it pour out a little easier.

The tube was junk, it must have been frozen before...
The tube was junk, it must have been frozen before put on sales floor. Waste of 6 dollars. Ended up using a different product.

I have used Vulkem 116 sealant before so I know...
I have used Vulkem 116 sealant before so I know it's a excellent product. My primary beef with Home Depot is that the colors they carry in the store are priced at about $6/tube, whereas the online order price was about $10.50/tube, just for a different color. That seemed like price gouging to me.

Vulkem caulk is the most durable, longest lasting caulk I have ever used. It is my “go to” caulk for any use that will be exposed to the elements, requires permanent adhesion, and is paintable, in the event you don’t find a color that already matches the job you are completing! Love it!

Purchased this product to use on our home of 25 years old. Our contractor used it when he built it for sealing our siding & windows. Finally, 25 years later I have to "touch-up" gaping areas where the siding and trim board meet. We have wood siding and cedar trim boards, this caulking is the best I've seen and used.
