That is, since it faces the front walkway and it is open a lot in warm weather, the garage window is now barred with the Su Casa bars. It was installed on the inside so it is less obtrusive, and I don't really care for the 'Window Security Bars' look. Now no one can simply take off the screen and hop in. Not that anybody ever has, but now they can't!

Security bars?
Security bars are meant to be stout and vandal proof. These are not very strong looking security bars. for aesthetic look it's fine but for the main purpose of it no. Get a solid bars if you want real security for your home.

BURGLAR BARS
This is a 'quick & dirty' answer to worries about a gap in your home or apartment security. I installed these burglar bars myself. Installations required an inpact drill/driver and the socket head to fit the one way screws should you choose to use them which you should. It takes less than five minute to bolt them in place. make sure you have the bars aligned straight up and down before you drill the pilot holes for the one way screws. Lag screws would work just as well and deter most intruders if you wish to remove the bars more easily for what angst you might have about permanence with the one way screws. The one way screws canbe reoved too with a special socket head but it's still a little tricky.

Guardless Window Bars
The old saying goes "You get what you pay for" these window bars were very easy to install, but I wouldn't hold my breath on expecting them to stop or deter a determined burglar. Their MADE IN CHINA, what does that tell you? The bars are hollow square tubing, I wrapped a cloth tape measure around one of them and it measured 2 1/4 ". The mounting brackets, (sold separately) are also made of the same hollow tubing. I could easily use a pair of bolt cutters and go right through these bars or even a heavy pry bar will work. They might work better on a second story window, but if I lived in a high crime area I would definitely install SOLID WINDOW BARS, not these. Lucky for me I have an ADT monitored security system plus indoor-outdoor security cameras. I do not live in a high crime area, but being in Law Enforcement for 29 years, I've seen it all, so trust my review. Go buy solid window bars or at least heavier gauge tubing, depending on the size of your windows solid tubing might be to heavy so opt for heavier gauge material. P.S. tried to upload a picture of the installed window guard, but the Home Depot website wasn't operating properly, I waited 20 minutes and the picture was still uploading after two attempts. Figures....

Window Guard
Appears strong and a good deterrent for home use. Ordered the extra mounting brackets that are actually necessary for ease of installation. If I would recommend it, I would specify that the brackets are necessary.

For the price the product is exactly what I wanted
The window bars will not stop a determined thief with a crowbar and/or metal saw but will provide a good degree of protection vs. just the window alone. For the price, the quality and protection afforded suit me perfectly

Good value
I needed these bars to keep out vandals at my apartment complex. The installation was a breeze. I used regular bolts instead of the one-way bolts that were included.

Fits well, looks good.
Fits a 36" x 24" window perfectly, and style matches other sizes of this product line. Not as good as solid steel would be, these are made of light, hollow tube and thin bar. Would slow down a thief, or make them think about trying another house.

Looks OK; Strength?
Two panels were needed. They were installed easily due to the great video instructions provided online and the availability of needed parts. My only concern is the strength of the area where the 2 panels join together. I feel like that is a weak point. But I hope it will present enough of a challenge to discourage any attempt to defeat its purpose.

Use of a connecting bracket at the point where the 2 panels join will support and reinforce the center of the window guard.

Connectors slide off
Two Window guards joined by connectors for a large window that is to open for fire safety. Guards are too light. Needed to have another horizontal bar welded across the middle and weld the connectors. Weight creates too much sag. and stress on locks. Another support and insert added for the middle horizontal bar.

Good sturdy window guards. Look nice also
We are happy with the window guards. We can leave the two windows open when we leave during the day doing errands and etc. It's a nice feeling not having to worry.

Functional and Inexpensive
Bars are exactly what I expected - lightweight metal bars for across the window, not high security, but workable. Only issue I had is that these bars come with NO mounting brackets - and I don't believe that was readily made known in the description and when ordering - you HAVE to order them separately. Otherwise decent enough, and I am really using them to help keep three small ones in the house, not people from coming in.

Does not come with hardware but overall I was very happy.
Plain window bars, easy to install on my own had to goto my Home Depot to get hardware but that was easy and quick. Ordering online was easy, measured the window myself.

Like the scroll decorative look of the bars.
I purchased the bars because they came in white. Needed security bars that were attractive and these did the job. They were easy to install as well.

Need the components to be sold together with the window
The price is right. However, the accessories and mounting brackets are sold separately. It would be helpful to have these items listed on the same page as the window guard.

Visual deterrant, but not very strong
I was surprised at how light-weight the metal in these grills is. I bought 3, one small one to span a bathroom window and two to link together to span a larger kitchen window. They could easily be be bent or pulled off the building by a potential intruder. Certainly they are very cheap, and probably nothing will deter a determined thief, but surely they could be made more sturdy.

Kinf of disappointed
No demo available at the local store, so I could see what I was ordering. One-way screws that came with them were basically useless. I have a well-equipped shop, but my blade screwdrivers weren't big enough to get these scews into anything. These screws are useless in concrete block, and probably would be immpossible for the average homeowner to install. Two of the tubes where the mounting legs go in had welding slag in them which had to be filed out with a small metal file, again not a standard home owner tool.
Shipping was by YRC, which was supposed to deliver them on Tuesday. They rescheduled for Thursday, and didn't bother to deliver or call. Friday, I had to make several calls, and they didn't want to deliver it that day either. Finally had to call national customer service to get a delivery. I think it was just inconvenient for them to deliver two window bars.
Once mounted, they look okay, but I think that with a little effort, I could bend these out far enough to get them off the mounting legs.
All in all, I would not recommend these.
