Love this door. Super heavy duty door that lets light in but not the heat. Sleek simple design which doesn't look like you are in jail.

This is a very good door and I would love to give it five stars, but ultimately need to settle on four. I installed this door twice, the first time being done by my contractor. Unfortunately the 1st door was not manufactured true and caused the door hardware not to latch properly and bind. I was very pleased with Home Depot's customer service though, they picked the door up for free and issued me a full refund very quickly. I ordered a second door and installed it myself. It wasn't too bad since I was able to use the previous holes as pilot holes. It does seem to be a very sturdy and attractive door without screaming security door which is what we were looking for. The screen mesh material is very strong and cannot be damaged by pets. Overall I feel there is some minor fit-and-finish issues and due to those I would price it about $100 cheaper. Other than that we are very pleased and happy to finally get the door installed and working.

The instructions are pretty worthless. Be careful and mount it with regular lag bolts, then do the security bolts when it's fit. They don't point out key things like how the fit is supposed to look. There are huge gaps at the top and bottom, and for a $400 door they should provide seals or rubber strips. The lock fitting slots are pretty bare and it feels like the locks and striker move around a lot. I didn't line it up right, so now I need to grind the security bolts off. My fault, but they could have provided more than a one page piece of paper for the install. It's a nice looking door and screen, but my advice is that if don't plan on installing more than one security screen door a decade, then hire a professional.

The door see through view from inside out and the security it provides is excellent.

When we purchased the door we were not informed that there would be gaps and would need a seal kit to close those up. Had we known we would have bought it with the door and had the installer put it on with the door. Now we’ll have to find someone to install it for us.

This is a very nice looking, heavy duty, screen door. It is different from others because it has a security screen rather than bars. That is the primary factor we considered when purchasing. We purchased the door for a surface mount installation. It is very well made and perfectly square. No damage was noticed upon arrival. The packaging seemed a bit light weight for a screen door of that weight; but apparently worked OK. The door was too heavy for the existing wood frame so a new 1" x 6" cedar frame was installed. That was not an issue and the new, 6 inch wide frame made it very easy to fit. The steel frame was well made and was easy to install in the door opening. The door was mocked up in the opening with temporary screws which allowed for fitting the door exactly before the special security screws were installed. The security screws come with the proper tool for use with an electric screwdriver. It will require at least an 18 volt screwdriver. Be sure to pre-drill the screw placement. Installation time once the wood framing was improved was approximately 1 1/2 hours for two people. I took off one star because the trim kit is an extra cost option. The trim kit was required for our installation and I'm glad I included it in my order. I recommend the trim kit purchase as a required item for surface mount security doors. Increases the cost a little but is worth having all the parts to complete the installation. The door completely met our expectations. I would recommend this door for do-it-yourself installation for two people.

The door was easy for our handy man to install and it works well. I would rate the door as excellent. However, we also bought a door knob and deadbolt. The doorknob lock has a glitch but will be returned and I am sure will be fine.

Bought this for my mom's front door and she loves it. Follow the directions and it's a pretty straight forward install.

The door was very easy to install. I was able to complete the job in a couple of hours with the wife. Probably would have been quicker with less bickering! The door is super stylish. The metal mesh screen keeps the bugs out. I'm super pleased with the purchase.

Very durable and robust construction. The powder coat finish looks like it will hold up on the coast where we live. We have a lab puppy that previously destroyed a screen , but the hardened mesh on this door can definitely take anything he can throw at it.
