I decided to give this brand a try. They advertise their product as an organic potting soil mix. There is absolutely nothing in this giant bag except coco coir. I emailed the company, I’m sure nothing will come of it, but pretty crappy of them to act like this is some rich organic mix and it’s not. It’s dry coco coir.

Worked great in filling raised garden beds. Extremely easy to handle because of being so light.

The soil is difficult to work with having to basically premix it with water. The more environmentally friendly idea of using Cocoa coir is fine, but it's really just a cheaper alternative to perlite. The soil came contaminated with bugs and when used started to sprout all of these weeds that are in every plant. Avoid this stuff, it's just not worth it at all.

I'm currently using this soil in a container to grow some herbs, green like kale and a bush cucumber. I noticed that all containers are now growing tons but not where I planted my seeds. For example I planted only 3 cucumber seeds but the entire container contained little green sprouts (which look very different to the three cucumber sprouts that ended coming exactly where I planted them). Same thing happened with my herbs, the same little green sprouts that I did not plant seeds for started to grow. Not sure what is going on.

As others commented, this is NOT your standard big brand "potting soil." I'm attaching a photo so you can see the difference. I also read the description multiple times and one line jumped out at me: organic growers potting media. I wouldn't really call it a soil. This is very lightweight mixture, and the color is a reddish brown. I'm using it for aroids and tropicals that need to be quick draining, so hopefully it works well for that purpose. The pic shows the Vermont Organics mix in the front (empty) pot, and the pot behind it has the mix sprinkled on top of a common potting soil.

I was dubious about this potting mix when it arrived, but compared to several different types of soils, it is producing surprisingly phenomenal growth. It is, in fact, perfect without amendment (commenting against a reviewer who didn’t actually use the product before reviewing it) and was just fine at drying out in the chilly PNW late Spring we had as well as retention in the recent hotter weather. I highly recommend this product and put it on par with Fox Farm products.

Soil is fantastic, works very well for container gardening. I've been able to achieve great results... I would definitely recommend.

The soil was really light weight, because no water and the base for it is coconut coir. Ecologically so much better for cost of delivery, fuel use for delivery, etc. (although Home Depot delivery was free. Thank you!) The soil, as the seed starter mix, contains no peat. Peat is very bad environmentally and I have been looking for a potting soil without it. I’m glad that I found this soil.

This is just what it’s called, it helps reclaiming damaged soil. Must be mixed with a good soil in pots, comes with bugs!

Planted spinach and lettuce mixture from seeds on April 4. Spinach is now 2" tall, and lettuce is coming along nicely. Growing all of this in my in my greenhouse. The bag is good sized and soil is easy to work with.

LOVE this organic potting soil. First off it's crazy light so it's a breeze to carry the bags (so nice that the water isn't added in the bags so you don't have high shipping costs/excess and unnecessary fuel costs. The vendor is so nice...I called to find out how to use since it's not damp...he said just add 4 cups of water to the 1cu bag and wallah...it's perfect. My seeds have been LOVING it...growing so super fast and healthy. VERY impressed with this soil and will use again for sure. Delivery was also fast which was surprising with everything being affected by corona right now. Anyhow...THANK YOU for a great product!

Fantastic concept. It arrived at my door light as a feather. I rehydrated it, filled the pots, threw in the seeds, and shiso coming up for the first time. I'm thrilled.

It is very dry and lightweight but when mixed with water it turns into very good potting soil.

Great potting soil. Been using it a few years now. I've planted veggies, flowers, etc. in this soil and never had a problem

The soil is very course and is less than ideal for seed planting. We also think, for the volume, it’s over priced.

I've used soil with coco cior and prefer it to peat based soils. It's light and easy to handle.It's great pots.

Excellent peat-free potting mix. I avoid peat-based products because mining peat releases carbon into the atmosphere, so this product is exactly what I want.

Good for seedlings. Doesn't retain water well for larger plants.

I gather from other reviews that this may not work for everything you might want potting soil for; I used it to fill the rest of some larger pots when moving several plants with existing soil from smaller pots to larger pots, and for that it worked great

This soil is TOP quality. My indoor plants look perkier, and are starting to grow more leaves and stems. I will definitely be purchasing this product again!

My stong organic transplants have failed to thrive 2 years in a row with this added to the beds. I have raised beds and inground large vegetable garden. This is merely ground up wood products. It flies around even when damepend. I thought last year is was just not enough of this to rejuvenate the present organic soil. NOPE! Terrible texture, plants doing poorly and no benefits in all 20 beds. My advice, do not use with veggies.
