Customer Reviews for Vigoro 0.8 cu. ft. Black Bagged Recycled Rubber Mulch

This product looks great and does not look like rubber. I have shown a side by side photo from last year using wood mulch and this year with the Vigoro rubber so you can see for yourself. I also added a close up photo with the Vigoro mulch. It only covers about 1 third of the size that a normal bag of wood mulch would, but because it is rated to last longer I figured I would try it in a few of my areas. If I do not have to mulch every year, that will be a plus. The reviews I read stated that the Vigoro rubber mulch repels weeds better than traditional mulch, but I am not finding that aspect to be much different. You will notice in my photos that I actually have a few weeds that need to be pulled. Overall I am very happy with this product. It has been several months since I put this down and it still looks as good as new.

So far so good. I am trying this product in my front yard now because I have some high winds in the area and lots of sun. I wanted to reduce the fading and the mess in my yard after windy days. Because of this I thought to try the rubber mulch. Hopefully over time these benefits hold. That said, the bags are light and easy to pour. You don’t have the mess of regular mulch. It does smell a bit at first and also take a lot more bags to cover an area. I used about 35 bags on a 8x15 foot bed. So you can see how pricey it can get. Hopefully though I won’t need to mulch for 5-6 years which will then pay for itself.

This is lighter and easier to put down than wood mulch. It costs a bit more initially but I did not need Preen to curtail weeds and it's supposed to last 12 years. My sister-in-law was told to use rubber mulch around her house because it prevented bugs after finding termites and carpenter ants. That was enough to convince me to use it. Then when I learned about the color guarantee and no weeds, we were sold. It looks awesome!

We purchase this mulch last year. The bags were larger and covered more sq feet. Same money but less product - nice, way to go.

I spent $300 on this mulch and at 2inches it covered 100sqft. Not happy.

I love this mulch. I have been buying it for years. The black provides a great contrast with spring greenery and flowers.

Love this stuff. Retains the dark black color much better than dyed wood mulch and it's so much lighter in the bag, makes it easier for my old bones to carry around the garden. Highly recommend and it's no more expensive than regular wood mulch. Love it.

Delivery could’ve been better! The bags were left in my front yard, instead of being placed on my front porch! So I had to go and pick each of them up and carry them to my porch!
