HORRIBLE PRODUCT! GNATS!
Can’t call it potting "soil" because it is so far from soil-it is yard waste thrown in with stuff that looks like soil. This is basically killing my plants-doesn’t hold water as stated, drains instantly and the GNATS are taking over! It is awful! I have always had a system to prevent watering and gnat problems, until now! The pix are 3 days’ worth! NEVER again! I have to start over after wasting so much money, not only on this product, but to remedy all of the problems it caused!

I bought Vigoro potting mix seeing its brand name but this mix is full of twigs and stuff like mulch. The plant doesn't look happy. Hopefully it will survive. Its a well draining mix so will give 3 stars.

Boards and limbs in the mix
Can’t recommend this mix because I had substantially large pieces of boards and limbs in the bag. Can’t put a 10 inch board piece in my six inch pots. Seems they might run this through a screen to get out these large pieces before bagging and selling to the customer.

Excellent
If you want to fill or mix into a garden bed, or fill a pot, or even add some soil to your garden, I highly recommend this product. It’s nice, fluffy soil that has enough nutrition to get your plants started. I’ve tried so many brands over the years, and this is the best. And unlike other bagged soil, this isn’t filled with wood chips and other garbage. It costs less than miracle grow, but has the same level of quality.

Found broken pot in my soil
It’s a good thing I was using a small shovel and not my hands like I usually do or else I could’ve cut myself on this broken piece of ceramic pot that was in my bag of soil. Super weird and scary since it could’ve been bad. Also this soil ends up molding in my pots..

I’m actually disappointed I didn’t buy the other more well known brand of soil. So far my experience has been this soil hasn’t been drying out well & quite a few of the plants I purchased from Home Depot have died either b/c they weren't very healthy in the 1st place or b/c this soil retains water for longer then what has been healthy for the annuals I planted in it. Either way, I’d like a refund and plants replaced @ no cost to me.

Very coarse but worked great for seed starting!
This has large chunks of bark and is really almost more of a mulch. It doesn't hold water as well as finer mixes. I was curious and used it in a seed-starting experiment, because this is supposed to be completely the wrong kind of medium for starting seeds. My seedlings grew better in this than in any of my fancy germination mixes! I will definitely buy it again next year.

Fungal spores are a natural part of soils. Under the correct conditions, spores can develop into fungus or mold. Our growing media products are not sterilized and may contain microorganisms such as fungus. In fact, fungus/mold has been scientifically proven to improve the growth of plants which is why we do not sterilize the soil. The fungus/mold only becomes a problem if there is an overgrowth. Overgrowth occurs when the soil/mulch is too wet. For soil that has not been used, allow it to dry out on some newspaper outside before using. For soil that has already been used, allow the plants to dry out a bit between waterings. This will not harm the plants.

These insects do not harm humans and do little plant damage (they primarily feed on the fungus found naturally in soil). Allow the soil to dry out as much as possible between watering will help control the larvae. Applying at least 1/2 inch of horticultural sand on top of the soil of potted/container plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. Horticultural sand should be left on the container for several weeks, until the problem is solved.

Bags that has trash inside! Glass, rocks and mold!
I have a big backyard garden project that I need to do, and I picked this brand for my fruits and vegetables plants. After pouring the soil into my containers, and fluffing up the soil I noticed that pieces of plastic were in the soil.. including rocks and glass. I also noticed that some of the bags that I bought had some kind of mold in them. There should be a recall for this product. After spending $431.33 and finding trash in each bag. I doubt that Vigoro doesn't have quality control.

Product full of baby snails and sticks
Bought the product to repot several plants. I was dismayed to discover the poor quality of the soil - ended up dumping it and not using it. It was infested with small snails and saw some fungus as well. Don’t buy it!

The soil is pathetic. I found shards of metal, a four inch piece of black hose and various plastic pieces in one bag! I did spike the product. Nothing stands out as the weight from these pieces of trash made what seemed like a great price a poor choice!

Maybe it's not for every plant
I plated some oregano and rosemary both are dry now
I used as directed but
Plants were better in the previous soil which was plain dirt

Looks like mud after watering
This mix is terrible and they have changed the ingredient also. This potting soil used to be light and airy, drained perfectly, and dried out at a good rate. It is terrible, and it looks like mud sitting on top of my plant. I do not like it, and I’m taking it back. Do not use this product.

I like this potting mix a lot. It is light and fluffy compared to other brands that I have used and doesn't have big chunks of dirt or twigs in it. Much better quality and a good buy for the price and size you get. My tomatoes see to like it as well so I will be buying this again in the future.

fungus knats
All of my plants have fungus knats, I couldnt figure out where theyre coming from and all my freshly potted elephant ear tubers are now dying, however after going to began repotting all of my plants today i noticed the bag of soil is infested. Which means the infestation is coming from the bag or soil i used to pot everything. I purchased 2 bags in one order i used the first one and was getting ready to use the rest of bag 2.

Vigoro 32 qt. All purpose Soil Mix for indoor or outdoor use for Fruits, Flowers ,Vegetables and Herbs. I bought this dirt to transplant my Citronella plants , and for Azaleas cuttings.This is my first time using it ,but the mix seem to be well Good to me. My plants seem happy as well.I would of given 5 stars , but I could not change 3 into 5.

Thanks for the fungus gnats
I used it as filler for several of my house plants but did not see the fungus gnats until I was halfway done. Even after changing the soil, putting sand and rocks, spraying neem oil, I’ve still got so many bugs. I’ve never ever had this problem with Miracle grow. I’m going to give these plants to the neighbors I hate.
