This product ruined my butcherblock. The product dries so fast you can't even strike second brush line, it already dries. Horrible product. Don't make same mistakes as me and buy this lacquer. Dries in seconds leaving the surface uneven with build up of this gooey thing. HORRIBLE!!!!!

I actually had 2 quarts and the first canwhen using it it seemed to be too white and I thought it would clear up when it dried. When I put the brush in a pan to clean the whole brush turned white and was pretty hard to get off. So I thought it was a fluke so since I was on a dead line after resanding everything down again I got the other can and got about 1/2 way done I could tell it was doing the same thing. I was late with the order after having to resend everything down again. Lost $30. This was the worst stuff I ever seen. Now I have 2 quarts of worthless stuff. The brush is ng now I cleaned it the best I could but the bristles air hard and white. So don't buy this or you will be sorry

Yikes, something is amiss here, Bobby! To ensure a clear finish with Rust-Oleum Watco Lacquer Wood Finish, it must be applied with a good quality bristle brush or applicator and to a dry surface. It is also key to apply the product within the recommended temperatures and humidity level. If needing further assistance, please give us a call at (800) 901-0411. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

I prefer lacquer over poly for the drying time and the ability to repair flaws.

I had to finish some cabinet faces… This is good for building up the surface, but you’re still gonna want a pop can to get a perfect glass on your final coat…. this stuff dries so fast it’s hard to not leave brush marks or roller marks no matter how fast you work

To be honest, I did not like this lacquer, I was completely disappointed, I covered it in three layers, it still does not work, the varnish and the oily base are weak

The lacquer was not clear. When I opened the can, there was an opaque white layer floating on the top. I tried stirring and the layer just broke up into white blobs. Tried vigorous shaking, didn't help. Dipped a brush in and the bristle just got coated with white blobs. Very glad I did not apply to my expensive cabinetry that I had spent over 2 months building.

I was very surprised to get as good a finish as I got by brushing on this lacquer. Two caveats: use a respirator and "no sanding between coats" amounts to--well, maybe. Light 220 ROS took out all the little nibs that landed on my work and left a great surface.

Dries too fast
Laquer dried as fast as I could put it on, so it didn't smooth out

Happy to help, Pete! We recommend applying Rust-Oleum Watco Lacquer Wood Finish only when the air and surface temperatures are between 55-90 °F (13-32 °C) and the relative humidity is below 85%. We also recommend avoiding applying in direct sunlight, as this can shorten the dry time. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
