I installed a pendant light fixture over my kitchen sink but I chose not to replace the switch/plug with a dimmer since I have a multiple plug receptor in place so the simplest alternative was the adaptor dimmer. Works well.

These little gadgets are difficult to find retail so is nice that you can find them online at Home Depot

This device doesn't work well with led dimmable downlight, not recommended.

I needed a low wattage bulb for watching TV in the evenings. This works Great, I have the lamp connected to a wall switch so I set the brightness I want and forget it.

Bought two of these for decorative overhead LED bulbs in the basement and both are working well. Only issue is that they turn on to max wattage before you can dial them back to the desired brightness. I find this to be no big deal, and unlike some of these I've seen, they do shut fully off.

Purchased a quantity of 3 dimmers. One turned the bulb on at full brightness for 10 seconds then off then on etc...I threw it out. The other two will properly cycle but only bring the bulb to about 15% brightness....useless. Save your money look for another brand

The rheostat works as presented. Screw it in the socket, screw the bulb base into the rheostat and you're done. The product has worked without issue for many hours. I have mine on a low-hanging pendent light-- maybe not the best use of the dimmer; however, that's my problem not yours. Also, the actual dial could be a bit more sturdy, though no problems have occurred and I have two of these.

It works (so far). The dimmer's dial is smallish (another one we have has a much bigger dial which is more convenient to grab and turn) and its working range starts only halfway through. This one, however, is just half the price of other models one can currently find online, and it is fully functional. Buy this one for yourself and a better one for your wife.

This product is an excellent value. It works exactly as described. I can dim a 75w bulb down to a soft reading light or use it at full brightness or anywhere in between. Creates a pleasant ambiance in the room. For the money you just can't go wrong. Since it screws into the existing lamp socket you may have to buy a larger harp to raise the lamp shade. A new harp costs about $5.

It was easy to install and is easy to adjust. Too early to decide if it wears well.

It works as expected; adequate function the way I use it (always keeping it at the same level) but different smoothness turning up vs. turning down. Cheaper to buy identical unit at Home Depot than at other hardware stores I bought two--and then two more.. Good for extending the life of decorative bulbs. Nice for spiral and squirrel cage Edison replicas; it dims the filaments to a "comfortable to look at" level.

I used it only one night for reading then it stopped working. I changed bulbs, that wasn't it . I tried it in several other lamps and nothing. I am really disappointed about it not working. I E-Mailed Home Depot but I threw my Sales ticket away and the package it was in so I couldn't return it. I still have the bulb thinking I may be told to take it back to the store but never heard from anyone.

This dimmer is not capable of gradually increasing the brightness of a 100W incandescent lamp from zero to bright. It suddenly turns on at an intermediate brightness, which can then be decreased gradually to zero. Also the dimming dial is inconvenient.

The product manufactured is fine as far as quality and value. Best use is controlling 60watts bulbs indoor or outdoor. And remember to use with dimmable bulbs.

I bought this for my office. Super easy to install, just twist on like a lightbulb. WaLa dimming light!

Perfect for multi-level homes, elderly, and disabled.

Not sure why they don't carry this in the store. Needed something that my kids could use in their lamps and this was the perfect fit.

We have searched many stores for this type of dimmer. We ordered 4 of them to keep a few in spare. They work with all types of lamps and can be adjusted to any brightness level desired. They also allow the lamp to be turned off and on by a wall switch at the brightness level you want. The touch type must be reactivated by touching the lamp in order for the light to come on if the lamp is turned off by a wall switch. This type also allows the lamp to be controlled by a timer at any light level desired. We are very happy to find this product and thank Home Depot for making it available through mail order.
