    My wife loves it!
I had to bypass the ballast, but once I got them installed, it was working very well. My wife appreciates the brighter light in the kitchen.

Easy after the first time. Read for photo context.
I retrofitted my kitchen with 4500k bulbs in a single morning, never having done this before. I decided to get 6500k for the garage and finished hours before sunset. I'll leave photos for comparison. I won't blame the manufacture for me thinking 6500k means "more bright" than 4500k, but I realized it just has to do with color. I wish I got 4500k for the garage. 6500k is way too cold for comfort.

      Easy after the first fixture
Replaced 2 fixtures in the kitchen and one in the hallway. After removing the wire cover and figuring out what the heck I was looking at, everything became clear and easy. The 4-lamp fixture had 2 balasts wired in series. The instructions were to remove the balasts entirely because the bulbs themselves have regulators installed. So I wired one side in paralell, clipped the wires on the other side installed the bulbs and now everything works. I also did my garage but with 6500k bulbs.

        You can save $$$.
Bypassing the ballast in a fluorescent light allows you to eliminate the issues of the ballast.

          Came with a bad led
After installing the lights one of the LEDs didn’t work. Kinda frustrating to have this issue with a LED. After returning and getting a replacement they worked fine.

            Too easy to upgrade.
This kit came with everything you need to update old lights. Easy to do, even has videos you can watch before tackling this project. I'm happy I finally have a QUIET working light.

A bit too $, but good anyway
Good color white, easy to disassemble, not too brittle, nice wide dispersion, +1 for single-ended, dimming works smoothly. A bit more than I wanted to pay per tube, but close enough I'm tempted to buy more.

replaced lamps and transformers with LED tube
I converted 4 fixtures that originally had 4ea 4 ft lamps. I installed 2 LED lamps 6500K lights in each and they provide very good light in the shop. Instant full brightness on and not all the annoying hum. The manual needs improving in the wiring diagram

I have been trying to switch over some preexisting shop lights that my father in law installed before we inherited the property from fluorescent to LED. Given the quantity and expense this has been a slow process. I recently saw that there was light bulbs that allowed you to switch without having to replace the ballast fixture. What an amazing idea. It saves the time of uninstalling and reinstalling the fixtures but also reduces the waste that would be involved. I decided to give it a try and got the Toggled 16-Watt 4 ft. Color Selectable Dimmable Linear LED 2 pack Tube Light Bulbs. I liked the fact that they are color selectable so you can easily change them with a little slide switch that is located on the side of the bulbs if your needs change, the lighting options are 4000k 5000k or 6500k. This also comes in handy when installing them in more than one room as you can just buy multiples without worry of mixing them up during installation. Another nice feature is that they are dimmable. These bulbs come prewired so you just disconnect the old ballast and redo the wiring and suddenly you have LED lighting. The wiring is connected to lamp holders (the part that holds the bulb) so you do have to change that part but that is easy enough. Both wires go to the same lamp holder which seemed odd to me but seems to work ok. These come with everything you need right down to the wire nuts. Another nice feature is that they are shatter proof which if your clumsy like me really helps. They come with caps on the prongs of the light so they do not get damaged. They have a limited residential lifetime warranty. I thought the odd triangular shape may be an issue but it was not. Apparently they did this to avoid the troffer cave effect that you get with regular shaped tube lighting. I would say it only took me less than 10 minutes to install these from start to finish. They were plenty bright enough for me and gave off way better lighting than the old ones that were there. It says they last 50,000 hours which if that is true that would be amazing and will last me for years to come! Very happy with these.

I'm impressed with these target lights so far. If they work for a few years, then they will be fantastic. They come in a two pack with everything you need to replace the old fluorescents in any fixture that uses T-8 or T-12, 4 foot long fluorescent tubes. Not all LED replacements have the necessary parts for the conversion. And, the conversions can vary. They provide more lumens output at half the wattage of the old flourescents. They have an easily accessible switch on one end for three different light temperature outputs from cool to daylight to warm. They have a plastic cover which would be much harder to break or crack than the old fashioned, thin glass tubes. They are dimmable. Which might be great for use in office or home interior settings. I’ve been waiting to pick up some LED replacements for an old shop light I had for my garage. It wasn’t installed because I was waiting for the right LED bulbs. I didn’t want to use the commonly available units with the integrated tubes that can’t be replaced. Because pragmatically, if a a lamp goes out, the whole fixture would have to be replaced. A commercial electrician friend who regularly converts office fluorescent lighting to LED had recommended getting LED replacements that direct wire into line voltage and eliminate the ballast. He said they had lasted longer in his experience and taking the ballast out of the equation was one less thing to have to worry about. So, the direct replacement LED tubes, that retain the ballast and use the existing shunted lampholder and ballast were non-starters for me. The Target lights met my needs and came with everything I needed for the rewiring and replacement in my existing fixture. I was able to rework the fixture in less than 15 minutes! I removed the ballast along with the old wiring and shunted stands. It was easy in my case because all were simple snap in parts in my existing fixture except for the ballast which was held in with two screws. I didn't even need to cut the wires. Putting in the provided replacement lampholders was a simple snap in as well. Then all I had to do was connect the prewired non-shunted lampholders directly to the A/C line input and snap all the covers and mounts back into place. It is important to not the power end of the tubes and make sure they go to the powered lampholder which provides a complete circuit. Hot in and neutral out. The other end of the lamps has a three position, color temp switch on the face, which makes it easy to switch from soft white to cool white to daylight. (4000, 5000 & 6500 degrees Kelvin) I'm using the 5000k cool white setting for now. I'm really pleased!

Shipped to home, arrived well packaged and within delivery window. Instructions were clear and simple. All parts were present, including wire nuts and replacement "tombstone" ends. I had two fixtures converted from fluorescent to LED within 30 minutes. The "tubes" are triangular, and the dark side (where the back of the led ribbon lays) fits nicely against the center cavity or back where the ballast formerly sat. You need to be attentive to put them in the fixtures right or you have a dark stripe down one side. A big plus is they are plastic, so much safer than exposed glass tubes in a shop or low stairwell. They are about 50% brighter than the fluorescent tubes (T12) that they replaced, and give just as even light. One other reviewer mentioned that the ends are dark for about 3". This is true, but in a fixture I didn't find it noticeable. Rated for 50,000 hours -- will they really last that long? Only time will tell. My only negative comments are: 1) the leads from the replacement connectors are only about 18" long. If your wires enter the fixture in the middle, you will have to splice in an extra piece of wire. For a 4' tube they should be 24" long - why cheap-out on an otherwise good quality conversion kit? 2) I ordered the 3000K lights for the warm white look. They look a bit more yellow than an incandescent warm white bulb, (perhaps 2400K?) but are within an acceptable range. I would definitely buy them again.

My T8 bulbs needed to be replaced in my laundry room. Went to pick up the standard fluorescent tubes and just happened to see these. I had looked at different brands before, just had not taken the plunge. After looking over the package, decided to give them a try. Looked over the instructions and watched the installation video and no problems. Simple install and work great. I will be replacing my other fluorescent fixtures with these bulbs. No more ballast or glass tubes to replace. Disposing of fluorescent tubes can also be a real problem in some areas. I am 68 years old and not an electrician, just have always done my own plumbing and electrical work on my home.

I have 6 florescent light fixtures in my garage / workshop. My dad actually purchased the fixtures from a surplus school auction decades ago. I have now replaced the florescent bulbs in 5 of the 6 fixtures with LED bulbs. I've been doing this as ballasts or bulbs fail so I've used several different brands of bulbs. Each one has been an improvement over the old florescent bulbs. This Toggled brand has 2 things going for it. First, everything you need is in the box. Bulbs, tombstones and wire nuts. Second is the color selectable feature, (For my shop I used the highest setting.) Once you get past all the junk the lawyers wrote the instruction are easy to follow. The only exceptions in my installation was rather than cutting the wires off at the ballast in step 3, I removed and recycled everything. I think it makes for a cleaner installation.

This pair of 4 foot long tube lamps is a higher efficiency way to get rid of noisy ballasts. My original tube lamps were rated 40 watts each. I measured them at 62 watts total, 203 lux, 90.3 VA and 0.68 power factor at 118VAC input. The 2 Toggled bulb pair measured slightly different depending on the color you switched to. With the 4000K color selected, I measured 32.3 watts total, 256 lux, 33.5 VA and 0.96 power factor. With the 5000K color selected, I measured 30.7 watts total and 310 lux. With the 6500K color selected, I measured 32.1 watts total and 300 lux. More light output at about half power and no hum. The 2 bulb box also includes 2 "dead" sockets and 2 wired sockets along with 4 twist on wire-nuts. With power off, you must disconnect the socket completely on one end of the tube fixture and rewire the other end. I reworked my fixture because the included socket ends would not work in my fixture. The color switch on the Toggled bulb makes it very easy to select warm 4000K, bright 5000K, or daylight 6500K as desired. The package says dimmable but I didn't have a convenient setup to test that.

I got these lamps for two reasons. One, I had a lamp holder that would only work with flouresent lamps and I wanted to put LED's in them (standard LED replacement lamps didn't work). Second, I had another lamp that the ballast was doing the "buzz" thing and driving me crazy. These lamps looked like they would fill the bill. And, yes, they were perfect. On the one unit, I was having trouble figuring out which wires to cut, etc. since it didn't have the usual ballast. So, I called the Customer Help number on the instructions. WOW, what customer service! After talking with them a bit, they asked me to send them a picture of my light and within a few minutes they sent the picture back with a markup and instructions on how to modify the fixture and what wires, etc. to remove. They even circled them on the picture. Then they called me back to make sure I understood what they had said. To say their customer service was wonderful is an understatement. They were super! I was able to get the fixture set up and going in short order. They even called back again, to make sure I was able to get it together and that it worked. I also was able to understand the principle they use which makes it even easier. Basically, you take everything out of the fixture (electronics) and replace it with a direct AC feed. Everything you might need is in the kit and it works great. In the photos, I adjusted one lamp with daylight and the other with indoor color temperature so you could see the selectable range of the lamps. There are sometimes where you need/want the warmer light and other times where you want the brighter/cooler light and you can switch them right on the light. They are dimmable with an LED dimmer switch on your wall. These lamps are made from an acrylic material so you don't have to worry about the glass shattering and mercury contamination that you had with the old fluorescents. If you have ever broken one of those you know how it sends shards of glass everywhere that are difficult to clean up. The acrylic covering also softens the harshness of the LED type light and makes it more natural. Having said that, once you take out the guts of the fixture, you can't use the old fluorescent lamps in it. You have to use the new direct electric lamps. They give you a sticker to put on the fixture to indicate that. The slight problem I had was that I had to be mindful of which way the lamps went into the modified fixture. It has to be installed according to the label on the lamp so the active end (the one opposite the color switch) is in the side with the "hot" electrical connection in the fixture. The other end just holds the lamp in the fixture. Having said that, the 50,0000 hour lifespan of the lamps means you will probably never have to change them again. You can use them in either a single or double lamp fixture. It is also good for the environment that you can keep the old fixtures, put in these lamps, and recycle the electric ballasts, so you are not filling the landfills with more stuff. This is a great product and wonderful company and I highly recommend this product. No, I don't work for the company. It's just that their service was fantastic and their product good.

Too Short for Standard Shop Light Fixture
I’m an electrician, so I had no problem rewireing a garage fixture to eliminate the ballast. Unfortunately, these tube lamps are manufactured about a half-inch too short, causing an insecure fit. I had to wrap wire around the tubes to keep them from falling out. I’ll be looking for a different brand of retrofit LED tubes to replace the remainder of my fixtures. I’m very surprised that only a few others have the same issue. My purchase may have been from a bad batch.

                        Super easy switch out
I couldn’t believe how easy it was to change from T12 lights to these Toggled LED lights. I found the info video that’s in the description and some of the explanatory reviews to be helpful. In my case, after turning power off at the breaker, I unscrewed the wire nuts rather than cut the wires to remove the ballast. Then, I simply used the provided parts to replace the lamp holders and used the wire nuts to connect the wires. For me, this whole job only entailed three screws, a couple of wire nuts, and about thirty minutes from opening the box to turning on the lights. I am not an electrician, but can’t imagine that it gets much easier than this. Photos show: The wiring of the old ballast after wire nuts and the screw holding the lamp holder was removed; light after one replacement completed; light after two lights (4 tubes) replaced. What a huge improvement!

                          Easy project, great lighting
Went to HD for fluorescent bulbs and impulse bought this product as I have switched most of our other lights to LED. This is in my office so the light is on more than any other light. I watched the video on HD and another on YouTube. I removed the ballast and associated wiring as upon removing the ballast cover I could tell some DIY wiring had gone on. I can offer the ballast for reuse or recycle via Earth911 as I will not go back to fluorescents. I did use a multi-meter to check things because of the DIY wiring situation. The project took me 20 minutes and the light is much nicer/brighter than the fluorescent bulbs. May need to tighten the clips that hold the lamp holders or use a bit of tape/glue to secure them. Previous bulbs: Philips Cool White T8 32w 48in 2600lumens 30k hours (never lasted that long). Current bulbs: Daylight T8 16w 48in 2000lumens 50k hours Tools required was a flat head screwdriver, voltmeter and the Toggle bulb w/ conversion kit. Only thing lacking is to recycle bulbs/ballasts via Earth911.com.

Easy solution to old temperamental ballast
I was tired of having to flick the switch two or more times to get the fluorescent fixture in our laundry room to light up, so I decided to try this Toggle kit since it bypasses the ballast. I found the instructions a little confusing since I wasn’t sure about the shunting it references, but a quick YouTube video was all I needed. Since you can choose which end is the “powered” end, in our two bulb fixture I simply chose the end that had two wires attached to the ballast from each holder. I cut those four wires at the ballast, stripped the insulation at the end, disconnected the power from the ballast and attached the black to one wire from each holder and attached the white to the other wire from each holder. I didn’t do anything to the holders or wires at the other end. I then put the metal cover back on and applied the included label to indicate the powered end. Be sure to attach the bulb(s) with the end labeled “AC input” at the powered end and you’ll be good to go. I chose cool white for the laundry since I find “daylight” to be too blue. Next project is to convert the 16 constantly humming double fluorescent up-light fixtures in our cedar walled great room. For that we will save a few bucks by ordering dimmable soft white bulbs in bulk directly from Toggle since I now know we don’t need the new holders included in this kit.

Hi all. My T8 Flourescent Bulbs were starting to go bad. Decided to Upgrade to these. Called the Manufacturer to find out if they came with the Install Kit. Which they do. Never worked on a Ballast before. This was a Learning Experience for me. Changed out my 3 Shop Lights in about an hour. I removed the Ballasts and the asociated wiring. Just incase I needed them for another job since they work fine. Shop is so much Brighter now!!

                                Great product
The Toggled LED tubes are much better than the florescent tubes. They are instant on, dimmable, bright, use less than half the energy (when dimmed, even less), and a whiter light that gives a better appearance. I recently replaced the florescent tube lights that back light my glass block bar to Toggled dimmable LED replacement tube lights. The back lighting is with 2 four foot tubes, 2 three foot tubes, and 2 two foot tubes. I bought the 4 foot models at my local HD. The three and two foot models had to be bought on- line. This change was made so the lights can be dimmed…not necessarily to save energy, although it is a plus. I replaced the Cool White Florescent tubes with Cool White Toggled dimmable models. There is a conversion process since the ballast is not used, and power only goes to one end of the tube. Installation is fairly easy. It was more difficult for me since I did the minimum of change so I could reinstall the florescent tubes if they did not work out. I admit that I was skeptical that they would work as well as they do. If I had to do it over, I would have followed the Toggle instructions completely to make installation easier. I did have a problem with the dimmer when converting to Toggled LEDs. In the past I just used the same dimmer that was installed for the incandescent lights, and the LEDs work fine. I am tempted to knock off a star because of this: you cannot use just any dimmer, even if the dimmer is advertised compatible with LEDs I recommend that you select a dimmer from the list of compatible dimmers on the Toggled website. My HD has two of the recommended dimmers on hand: a Lutron Skylark, CTCL-153P and a Leviton Decora Slide Dimmer, DSL06. I chose the Lutron. The Toggled lights dim down nicely and I was able to achieve the lighting effect that I wanted.

Bought today. Was not sure if I had Shunted or Non-shunted Tombstones. I decide to use the supplied prewired Tombstones. After I found how easy it was to remove the old Ballast wiring and Tombstones from the first fixture it took me about 15 min to do the other fixture. The worst part was working on a ladder because of my ceiling height.

This product is a retrofit for 4 ft fluorescent tubes. The ballast is removed and the tube holders/ contacts are replaced (included). This is because the LEDs are single-end powered. Only the one end is connected to power. The tubes must be installed with the correct end (marked) in the powered socket. These tubes are not direct replacements for fluorescent tubes. The retrofit is easy and can be done with the existing fixture remaining in the ceiling. I recommend this retrofit. It eliminates the power wasting ballast. The LEDs can be dimmed. They are brighter than the fluorescents and come on instantly. I used a Lutron dimmer TGCL-153PR-WH. It is made for diimable LEDs and fluorescents. (available at Home Depot)

The Toggled dimmable LED lights were easy to install thanks to the easy to follow instructions. And once installed, the lights seemed to be much brighter than the fluorescent ones they replaced, and at 60% less power consumption. All that's left for me to do is install a dimmer switch to be able to use and enjoy that feature of these bulbs. Glad I made this purchase and ecstatic that I was able to install them myself (no help!) in about three hours or less.

Economical LED retrofit kit for old style fluorescent lights. No more ballast and direct wiring. Bright and energy saving. Cost less then replacing ballast and bulbs.

On the instructions it said to cut out the ballast, but on my light fixture there was no need to cut any wires. Went on super easy and I love how bright my garage is. Since I’m constantly working on my projects in there.
