After spending the past week @ the hospital w/my mom who had 3 surgeries & just transferred to a rehab facility (i was not looking at my best) I came into this Home Depot & was immediately put at ease. It was clean & employees were friendly. I was treated with professionalism, kindness and concern for my purchases. The young male in lumber verified with me that my measurements were corrected (ty cause the were not) Carols R asst mgr helped me find old style door knob replacement parts (ty for knowing they're separate frm reg doorknobs) and Ray i dont remember if he was electrical or lighting (blue eyes, glasses, grayish hair) helped me find & make sure i had the right hand tools. Each member knew their area and where EVERYTHING else was too! And what it was used for! Can't thank you guys enough!

The manager Ezzy is customer oriented and resolved my concerns quickly. She is definitely a great employee which totally changed my thinking regarding this location a few more employees like her and Lanae and you'll have a winning team. Thank you ladies.

Not enough store associates to assist getting items off shelves. Not friendly associates or knowledgeable I'm a new home owner therefore I have questions and got incorrect info which could've cost alot of money needing a plumber if I didn't read drain opener products. Then issue at register with being told of one discount only for someone to come over say no give them less alot more than half it was weird like they where standing around watching us as if we did something wrong profiling my husband said after we left .

My goodness! Never having to do home improvement before, I was terrified. But, EVERYONE at this store were wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I really was made to feel comfortable and will certainly return to this particular store in the future!

Home Depot #1986 is one of the most stocked stores I have been to if you need almost anything you can go to store #1986

All the employees that I directed my questions were answered with courtesy. ALL PROCDUCTs WERE NEATLY DISPLAYED. Store was cleaned and presentable. it was a pleasant shopping experience.

This store has everything you would ever need and customer service, for me, has never been an issue. Very friendly and fairly knowledgeable staff.

If you DON'T have to go here, don't. better selection and organization along with helpful employees can be found at other homedepot stores. Furthermore, I was charged seven cents for a bag that my purchase did not require. The store is in disarray and the parking lot is just as bad. Finally, the 10.5% sales tax is crazy. I make large purchases at Indiana stores. Only 7% there.

My "home" Home Depot. And easily the most all-around approachable and friendly staff of the several Home Depot locations I frequent in Chicago. I've gotten great service from Julian, Ana, Bernadette, Evelyn, Ezzy, & Martha. Thanks everybody.

If I could I would give my user experience for this Home Depot location negative stars, I would. As spring comes around my sister and I were planning on doing something nice for our mother and completely redoing her room. Paneling, ceiling, paint, doors, tiles. A real DYI for two generations of women to do. Now, we did get some help from my sister's boyfriend but only minimal in picking the supplies we would need. We started today at Home Depot. Spending over 400 ($415.23) on supplies. Paint, brushes, plaster, etc. Just a starter pack and we were planning on coming back for more supplies. In total we were planning on spending a little over 3k on our mother's room just in repairs. BUT we will never be coming back to this Home Depot location again. We had the worst experience. After being rung up and spending over $400 we were stopped at the door (as usual) to get our receipt checked (highlighted?). the individual at the door decided that she would go over each item on the list. Which I don't remember EVER happening during past trips. There were 28 ITEMS on our receipt. She goes over EACH ONE. She starts pulling items OUT, telling my mother and sister that she can't find these items. Even though we were just rung up moments ago. THREE security guards surround us. She it taking out item after item, having us stand there for well over 20 minutes while people gawk and stare. I'm not sure if anyone else has a parent over the age of SIXTY but they really do not enjoy standing while security harasses them for 20 minutes and strangers are staring. In the end she found that a paint pan and paint stick had not been rung up properly. Totaling in or around 12 dollars. Now I am not sure what her reasoning was for this. If it was because we are minorities or if its because my sister's boyfriend is not the same race as us or if she was just having a bad day BUT in the end it was HOME DEPOTS who handled this ENTIRE situation very poorly. There was NO reason why they should have let customers who had paid out over 400 dollars stand there for TWENTY MINUTES over something so silly. And in the end the only effect this will have is HOME DEPOT losing out on the thousands of dollars we were planning on spending there on dry wall, panelling, tile, paint, decorations, etc. I would not recommend anyone going to the HOME DEPOT on 4555 S Western. Horrible customer experience.

Is very convenient not to have to drive 8 to 30 miles to pick up supplies to haul back home. but this store does not have the best inventory that I have seen. I have seen better inventories at other Home Depot stores
