When you're starting to dive into a big home improvement job, you might not have everything you need in your workshop or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Central Plano Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices expand your toolbox and toolbelt with the precise tools you require to complete your DIY project. It's impractical to keep a specific tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, do a trial run before you decide which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the tools you're looking for.
Rent Shop Vacs, Post Hole Diggers, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major jobs with reliable power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter. Construct a new fence around your pool or property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools to securely set your fence posts.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Paint Sprayers
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and make surfaces look new again. Rent scaffolding and ladders to reach high surfaces when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for small to medium jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to get that job done.

From flatbed and pickup trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. How do I rent tools or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
