How do I fix drafty windows?

If your drafty windows need replacing but you need to make it through the winter first, seal them up tight for best results. Caulk the gaps well, then seal the window using a window insulation kit with plastic film and a heat gun. Add fabric threshold snakes along the bottom for extra warmth. Finally, trap and warm the air around the windows with blackout curtains or heavy drapes. Replace the windows as soon as possible.

Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home.
