Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?

This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.

Welcome to the College Place Home Depot. It's a great day to get started on your next home improvement project.

No matter how complex your project may be, we're here to help you finish it. From tools to lighting our associates will get you in and out. You can also check out our Home Depot product locator app, which displays a store map, the aisle location and the current inventory available for the items you're looking for.

At Home Depot, supporting the community is important to us. In 2018, The Home Depot Foundation pledged a total commitment of half a billion dollars to veteran causes by 2025. We also cover a wide variety of topics in our DIY workshops, where the focus is hands-on learning and providing you with expert advice.

You can find us southwest of the intersection of US-12 and WA-125, near the Fort Walla Walla Museum, between Walla Walla University and Whitman College. Stop by today.

Sincerely,

The College Place Store Team

How can I fix drafty windows?
When your windows have a lot of mildew, condensation, or frost, that's a clue that you need to replace or reseal them. If you can't install new ones right now, seal them up tight with caulk, weather stripping, or a window insulation kit. Use mold and mildew removers first, and wear a respirator to avoid inhaling it. Fill any other gaps with foam tape and cover window a/c units as well to keep the cold air outside. These steps should help stem the cold drafts until you can replace the windows.

What are good wintertime DIY projects?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, it may be an opportune time to clean up your indoor workspaces instead. A few days organizing the shed, garage, or basement will pay off when the weather warms. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.

How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a region where snow may occur, it's smart to organize or upgrade your snow removal equipment before a big storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor faucets are covered and drained, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Doing this basic prep will help keep you ready for whatever winter weather comes your way.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the College Place Home Depot?
Yes, the College Place store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to check the availability of the kits.

How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.

            I WISH I STILLL OWNED A HOUSE
I love decorating and sprucing up my home. I have access to a 20+ ft. Lanai off of my living room which allows me to do planting, etc. during good weather. Your choices of plants and flowers in the Spring, make my Green Thumb "itching" to get busy. Thank you for such a great addition to my neighborhood.

Almost always find what I need
I like to frequent our local hardware stores too. But when I need something specific, I can almost always find it here. When I did a huge home remodel last year, I could have slept at Home Depot I was there so much!

                  Stuff Stacked Everywhere
I almost hate going to this Home Depot because it is so cluttered everywhere it is difficult to get around and even hard to reach products due to stuff stacked in the way. so much so that my 2 year old grand daughter had her arm smashed between the cart and a work bench stacked in the isle

Employees did their very best trying to locate an item in very high demand. Felt good to get that kind of service.
