Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

            Worst customer service
My husband and I came in the store to buy some 3x8x10 wood pallets for our backyard. We needed 36 of them and there was only 10 left in the shelfs. We had to ask someone to help us and immediately said im not licensed to bring more to the floor and so we asked is there someone else that could help and just left without saying anything. Couple minutes later he came back with someone that could help and was able to bring down the pallets with a forklift. In the meantime we went and grabbed some paint and came back for the pallets. They had just left them in the floor with a total of 48 pallets but we only needed 36 so we had to put the difference individually back in the shelf. Then we called the same guy for help see if they can help us with the heavy pallets and said that we had to carry one by one ourselves in the cart. We then asked if someone else could help. He then came with the same forklift guy, pickup the pallets and just dropped them off outside without offering or saying here you go, nothing. Me and my husband just looked at each other like what! Anyways, worst experience ever.
