Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Do you stock large outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we have many large outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are life-sized animatronics. Make your yard the creepiest in the neighborhood with giant Halloween decor options, including witches and skeletons. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are another way to up the drama and create interest.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared for whatever circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, severe thunderstorms, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be in for a real headache. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofing panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if damaged.
What are some storage solutions for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow what you don't need to enjoy extra space. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Shoe storage and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've dreamed of.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for any special occasion or during the holiday season. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. They can be purchased at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
