Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you have huge Halloween yard decorations?
We have many kinds of large outdoor Halloween decorations, several of which are animatronics. Make your yard the scariest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, dragons, and witches. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are another way to up the drama and create interest.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with strong winds, snowstorms, or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Should I make siding repairs before it gets cold?
Ready your home for winter weather by replacing or repairing broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Check cinder blocks and brickwork for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, change out vinyl siding and chimney caps if damaged.
What storage solutions do you offer?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Moving blankets can shield fragile items as they're packed together. Shoe racks and other storage containers take summer belongings out of the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've been waiting for.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. Purchase gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
