Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities, as well as the environment. Do you have Halloween animatronics?
Yes, we carry many kinds of Halloween decor that make sound and/or movement. Our Halloween animatronics bring eerie characters to life. Life-like moving creatures will be the talk of the neighborhood. This includes current favorites like Dean the Deathologist and Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton. For additional drama, use a fog machine or two to hide the animatronics until they start to roar or cackle.
Why should I get a generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make before winter?
Ready your home for cold weather by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be in for major repairs later. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped if they're damaged.
Are sheds or garage cabinets better for storage?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Moving blankets protect fragile items. Shoe storage and other storage containers remove summer belongings from the equation. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you the space you've been waiting for.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present during the holiday season or for any special occasion. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can purchase them online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online.
