About This Product

Wiring your lights through a timer switch like the Honeywell Home RPLS730B1000/U can help save you money while adding a level of convenience and safety to your home. This Honeywell Home 7-day programmable timer switch has the flexibility of being able to use seven different programs per week. This unit works with incandescent and halogen lighting (40-Watt minimum). The LCD screen shows time, day and load status. Manual override enables load to be turned on/off without affecting programming. Multi-switch (3-way) connection enables use with 3-way switches. This unit also has a built-in rechargeable battery and the programming is protected during power outages.

      Q:Can you randomly turn on and off the lights manually? I would like to know which model is the best for both incandescent, as well as LED lights. This would be used for garage outdoor lights.

          I purchased this item based on its good reviews and very limited other options. We hired an electrician to install it. It’s expensive to have an electrician do it but we are not handy so it leaves us no choice. It took him about half hour to set it up and program and I heard him curse during the process. The display for AUTO and MAN, ON and OFF are way too small for me. I had to use iPhone to take a photo and then expand in order to read it. Not recommended for people over age 45! Now I figured out how to use it. I hope it’s going to last for a long time.

            The switch was easy to install and program. It has a nice clean design. I would definitely recommend to buy. I installed an analog timer switch (rotary dial with pins) at another location. The analog switch is clunky looking and can only be programmed for 1 day.

            Bought two, 5 years ago for porch and patio light. The clock doesn't keep accurate time, every 3 months both are off by 20 to 30 minutes and i keep forgetting how to set it. Buttons and text are extremely small. Setting it to come on at night and got off in the morning is almost guess work, although i have gotten use to setting them been that they are always on at the wrong time. I think it has to do with the Zone setting. Since i am in the Central time zone i keep wanting to setting it to Central perhaps i need to set it to north, right now i am trying south. I think i will find a good Dusk to Dawn fixture and change the switch back to a normal switch.

              I ordered this product to resolve an issue of sensor fixtures no longer responding to movement consistently. The device was simple to install and program however the the programming buttons under the tiny door are a bit difficult to navigate with big fingers. i suggest using the eraser end of a pencil to program the schedule. Two weeks into Auto programming mode and has been working consistently. Only weekly adjustments are for sunrise ON and sunset OFF times. This is a seven-day programmable switch timer.

              Had been looking for a programmable wall switch, and this one is perfect. Easy to install and program, plus price is reasonable . I installed this as a single pole switch, so all you have to do is connect the number 2 & C wires together to your Line wire, then connect the 1 wire to your load wire and there you go! Honeywell uses a number system with this switch to identify the wires which are all black, but again very simple to follow the instructions provided, can be installed as a 3-Way as well.

                On July 1, 2017 at 1:44pm central time I called Honeywell at 1800-468-1502. The lady which picked the phone was nice and polite, but seems new, and keep putting me on hold. So I requested for the supervisor. The supervisor was very unethical and keep interrupting me. I literally have to ask him many times to please let me finish, but he did not. To be honest he wasn’t rude, but for sure he was not in the mood of helping me and wants to end the call ASAP. I also asked him to hang-up if you are having a bad day. Fortunately he did not, but keep interrupting me again and again. He was only trying to convince me that I am doing something wrong. The example of his desperation to proof me wrong that he ask me what kind of bulbs are you using, and I said LED, so he said this timer cannot work with LED. But on the pack it only states “Not compatible with CFL”. The only reason I am writing this review to get the attention of head of this supervisor. Regarding the product, I just had it two days ago. So I cannot tell anything, but I am giving it 1 star because of the supervisor unethical behavior. Two things about this switch. On the pack it only says not compatible with CFL, but as per the agent it also not compatible with LED. Also as per the agents it can only work with 3 wires, but as per the installation manual, it can be install with 2 and 3 wire, single and double polo. The reason I called because that on Auto mode, when the switch is off, the bulbs are still very dimmed on. I hope this review can get the attention of the head of Honeywell’s head, and address this unethical behavior with the concern person and department. Thank you,
