Q:Can bag be poured and water added without using a mixer? I've heard that when people are doing a small footer, they just dump the bag of Quikrete right into the form and add some water. I've never done it that way; always mixed it in a wheelbarrow.

Not the same mix as the 80lb bags, different color
The 60lb bags are not even close to the 80lb bag mix. The 60lb is different color, mostly rocks, and in my opinion is missing cement for the ration of stones. The 80lb mix dries up in 30 minutes, while the 60lb haven't dried overnight!? Seems that I have ruined my project by adding two more bags of this 60lb mix on top of the 80lb mix. I would strongly disadvise of using the 60lb bags! Even tho the number 1101 and everything else on the bag looks identical, it is not the same! Bags are from MA.

Good product
Dried nicely with no cracks. Home Depot delivered 3 pallets directly into my garage. I had 3 friends over and bought a ryobi cement mixer that held 4 60lb bags at a time. We did the 8’*20’ pad in about 3.5 hours.
It looks great for a bunch of novices!

good product
Good product. I used to fill a hole made in my garage floor due to a leaking pipe. I have a concrete back ground and this product mixed well, took a little more water than yhe bag described but thats concrete. Cured properly, and floated well. I used a bonding additive to help prevent cold joints and it worked great.

Bad batch of bags
You have to be careful in choosing bags. Consistency is not equal in all bags. Some have more rocks than powder. I am not new at this and I am sure that it was not because of the water ratio. I had to work with the bags I had on hand since I was halfway through my project. I mixed one bag at a time and that is how I noticed the difference in them. Very disappointed on the outcome. Waste of money.

This concrete mix is really good and really easy to use for big and small projects. I used it to put in a 4x4 post for a mailbox that got knocked down during the winter. Dries quick too. Which is GREAT!

Bad mix
I have bought 3 pallets and mixed lots of cement bags. Unfortunatly the last pallet i picked up was only gravel and some cement. It was missing sand and didnt work. I then bought portland cement to try and fix the mix but still didnt workout
