A:  Yes, it contains smells very well. There ae small air vents to allow air in, but if you leave headspace above the compost mixture, bad smells are absorbed.

A:  Interesting that you like to call it a bad smell - many find the smell to be a farm smell which they like. However, I have to assume you do you have a bad smelling one - there are reason this is possible: #1 you are throwing protein based items into the compost bin - please don't. You may not be adding enough brown waste (use shredded paper). But, the best way to control the smell is to use a Aerobin 400 - because of the way they work - they do not smell.
