Q:New washer with water remaining in detergent tray. is there a solution?  We have cleaned out the tray.

Answer This Question

A:  It is normal for some residual water to remain in the dispenser tray for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.8 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Smart wi-fi Enabled Top Load Washer with Agitator and TurboWash3D™ Technology, Model # WT7305CV after each wash. However, the tray should not be filled completely with water. Since you have already cleaned out the detergent tray and its attachments, the detergent buildup that prevents the water and additives from dispensing fully causing water to remain in the compartments should not be the issue. Make sure that the attachments are inserted properly. If there are not inserted properly, the tray will not dispense correctly and water may be left in it. Remove the detergent drawer and make certain that all of the attachments and drawer are inserted properly...^IFV

A:  I also have a small amount of water left in the detergent tray. More concerning, I have a large amount of water and some of the softener left in the softener tray. I have to remove the tray and carefully take them to the kitchen (as it spills easily) to empty and clean after each wash.

A:  When you start the washer, the first thing it does is lock the lid. So, no you cannot have the water run while you are adding in garments. However, the machine wets the clothes right below where the water fills the tub, then it rotates a quarter turn and wets the clothes that are now below the water filler, then it continues this until all the clothes in the tub are wet. If you want to add more garments during this time, you would hit the Pause button to stop the machine. Once it has stopped, the lid will unlock. When you are done adding garments, let the lid close and push the start button. It will resume where it left off.

A:  The only time we have had that happen is with mixed loads of clothing and bed linens in the same load.. This had happened with other washers and with dryers. Anything with long fabric or straps needs to be washed separate or with straps use some type of clothing tie to keep from tangling. Other than that, normal wash loads do not tangle.

A:  If you have Home Depot install the washer, your order will have hoses added for the washer (and if you buy a dryer, it will have an electrical plug and a semi-rigid Dryer Duct added for the dryer). These are additional charges added to bill because washers and dryers do not come with these, but the installation itself is no charge.

A:  The turbo wash is simply a selection setting that can be chosen or not chosen. Like cold water wash vs. hot or warm. When you put the clothing in, you can alter selections as you wish including delicate or bedding. Once started the washer measures the load and determines fill level and run time. When finished if you have the matching dryer, it will read the settings used in the washer and select drying settings based on that. But there to you are free to alter selections as you wish.
