A: Yes, the 45-degree Wye could be used above ground.
A: Hi Kyle, the point of connection will leak. I would recommend applying a bead of waterproof silicone or adhesive to create a seal between the pip and fitting.
A: Hi Leff. Yes, the HDPE pipe is compatible with our S&D PVC fitting. Use waterproof silicone or an adhesive to seal the fitting to the pipe.
A: Yes, this is a 'thin wall' fitting.. S&D or DWV (drain, waste, vent) is designation for PVC pipe designed for non-pressurized systems. Note: I'm not a plumber, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
A: Yes, the PVC Sewer & Drain (S&D) Wye would be considered a thin wall pipe or fitting in this case - conforming to ASTM 2729 and 3034.
A: Home Depot sells them individual. You need to contact them to ascertain how many are in s "case". Probably 4 guessing.
A: 12 i believe
A: A case of these from the manufacturer comes with 20, however from the store they are sold 1 at a time.
A: Only needed one to solve my problem. I think there were 6 to a case.
A: Uh....I think that thev4 inch Y is for 4inch pipe.
A: 4 inch
A: This part is designed to fit 4" Sewer and Drain (SDR-35, triple wall, etc.) pipe. 4" schedule 40 pipe does not fit into this fitting.
A: The dimensions of the product are 4.5 W x 9.63 D x 8.88 H inches.
A: Schedule 20
A: Jimbo, this is considered schedule 20. It is thinner walled than standard schedule 40, you will need a schedule 40 to S&D adapter to mix together.
A: These fittings are for SDR-35 pipe or other sewer and drain pipes. They are not designed for use in pressurized water systems.
A: Designed for drainage pipe sold at the Home Depot as ASTN D2729.
A: I'm not sure. I used mine to tie-in my rain-gutter drain to my yard drain.
A: That is correct. the fittings of 20 do not fit 40. Besides being not to code in home use, schedule 20m is used generally for dust collection systems in a wood shop and also for outdoor water drainage.
A: This fitting is made to fit sewer and drain pipe. The most common types of sewer and drain pipes are SDR-35 and triple wall pipe.
A: Is it suitable for through the wall (block + brick) 4" bathroom vent fan? I would like to connect 3 with Y fittings, 1 wall opening. I guess all would need backdraft dampers.
A: Pipe commonly known as "sewer and drain" or sewer pipe, also known as SDR35 and by various other pipe standards. I've found you have to have a conversation with your local supplier to establish that you're buying the right pipe as nobody seems to agree on exactly what to call it. You might start with "the stuff that isn't schedule 40 but also isn't the really cheap corrugated stuff, often used for septic systems".
A: Theodore, use with the 4" Sewer Drain (S&D) pipe. Its about 1/3 the cost of schedule 40. Use for outside drainage, not plumbing.
A: No it doesnt meet code for plumbing in your home drain lines.
A: It works for through the wall installation. The best however is the concentric vent kits. I use one on my downstairs furnace and it supplies fresh combustion air along with exhaust fumes. The exhaust has a pipe in the middle going past the outside and the inside area outside is for fresh air. I also put a bird screen over mine.
