A: Hi Aaron. This info is normally included in the Info & Guides section of the Product Overview for your microwave on the HomeDepot.com website. Unfortunately, it looks like HD has not finished this section; most docs just open a Use and Care manual. The missing docs are included in your shipped product (thankfully!) and you can find more info at SamSung.com like this specification:

On page 2 of this spec, you will see they specify a minimum of 30" between cabinet bottom and range top so, since another picture shows microwave is 16.5" tall, your minimum gap between bottom of microwave and top of range would be around 13.5".

A: Hi PT. Ventless exhaust comes out from the top front, an opening right behind that horizontal metal strip atop microwave face. So depth of microwave must exceed that of the cabinet it hangs from (see instructions for details). You can remove the horizontal strip to install a new charcoal filter (you loosen three screws and need to Slide it sideways before it comes out, I almost broke mine by forgetting this, they should draw an arrow reminder methinks). You may also need to rotate the built-in blower to blow air in the proper direction (it is easy, just be careful to not over-tighten screws in plastic). hth, :)
