Q:Can you connect to pvc pipe and pex ? If not is there a adaptor to do so ?

Answer This Question
A: You can use this fitting to connect CPVC (off-white, yellowish) to PEX, they have the same outside diameter. The regular PVC pipes (white) have a different outside diameter and won't fit.

Q:Can this be used vertically? Or will I need some kind of blocking to keep it from shifting from pressure changes.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Kevin,
Yes, this fitting can be used vertically. SharkBite fittings have a pressure rating of 200 psi, so there should be no issue with pressure changes.

Q:The OD of 3/4 inch copper is 0.875 and OD of 3/4 inch Pex is 0.75. Is this fitting the one I should use to connect them?

Answer This Question
A: They have shark bites that adapt from copper to PEX and to PVC so make sure you get the right one
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes. There is a plastic insert in each end, leave it in for the pex and remove it for the copper.
by|Jan 3, 2019
A: Both copper tubing and PEX are "CTS" (copper-tubing size) materials and can be used with Sharkbites. I don't know how you measured them but 3/4" (nominal) PEX has an O.D. of 0.875", same as the copper tube. 5/8" PEX has an O.D. of 0.75", it sounds like you got that mixed up with 3/4".

A: Hi Justanod,
Yes, this fitting will connect copper and PEX. PEX, Copper, and CPVC are all Copper Tube Size. 3/4" PEX has an ID of .75 and an OD of .875.

A: No, the OD of 5/8" PEX is 0.75". 3/4" PEX has the same O.D. as copper tubing.

Q:I have one of these fittings going from my hot water heater. It goes from a copper pipe to a gray pvc. It's leaking from the pvc pipe. When I bend the pipe to make a more accurate 90° turn the spray stops. Can I just reseat the pipe or do I need to replace it? And if I do need to replace it , how do I take the elbow off???

Answer This Question
A: Hello Jeffrey,
It sounds like the best solution will be to re-trim and then re-seat the pipe. To remove a sharkbite fitting you need a disconnect clip in the same size as the pipe you have. Press the connector into the sharkbite fitting to take pressure off of the pipe and allow for removal. Use a pipe cutter (never a saw) to cut the pipe cleanly, this will allow the new connector to attach without issue. When on our site use the search term "sharkbite disconnect clip" to find the fitting right for you. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

A: Yes, you can remove them with a removal tool( instructions in the bag) very simple. If it's leaking I would recommend replacing the fitting. Normally a leak only occurs when there is a misalignment during assembly, causing additional stress in one direction.
by|Jan 1, 2019
A: If it's a leak in the line like I did you cut the line and deburr the ends and make sure there's no sharp edges and you press it on one in and pull the pipe together and slide it on the other end make sure you have room for this
by|May 5, 2023
A: Home Depot sells a removal tool for a couple bucks.
Grey pipe is most likely PEX . After removing the fitting, cut the pipe back an inch or so and reinstall.
Good luck.
by|Jan 31, 2019
A: I would try reseting the pipe first. You can easily take the elbow off using a disconnect clip. They are cheap.

Cut off a bit of the PVC and push it back into the elbow (to make it 90 degrees). While your at it, flip the elbow to see if the leak persists from the same side. If so it is likely the elbow that is bad.
