Q:Can this glue be used on boards treated with Copper Green?
by|Aug 1, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Yes, Titebond III can be used to glue treated lumber, but a couple of things needs to be followed before gluing can be successful. First, be sure the wood is dry (below 12% moisture content) or else the glue will stay wet and not dry properly. Second, lightly sand the surface of the wood to expose wood fibers for the glue to bond. If the copper solution is coating the surface, then the glue will bond to the copper coating, but the copper coating is not tightly bound to the wood. Sanding will remove the coating so that the glue has a good strong base to bond.

Q:Want to sand off peeling old veneer on front of exterior mahogany door, then glue a two ply mahogany veneer back over this, stain and topcoat. Some exterior PM direct sun. This product ok for that? And extent of bleed through?
by|May 30, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Yes, Titebond III can be used to bond veneer with minimal bleed through. Use a vacuum press to create consistent pressure on the veneer to eliminate the possibility of bubbling of the veneer. If you do not have a press for bonding the veneer, consider using an iron-on-veneering technique.
