Exactly what I needed to fixed a potato cutter to the wall

Researching anchors, I came across some that expand at the bottom when a center screw is screwed down into it. I tried one of them but by the time that I drove it into the hole, I couldn't rotate the screw because it was damaged from driving it into the hole. These anchors however are far superior, simply pound them into the hole and screw that lag bolt into it. Easy-peasy, no screws to turn (or get damaged)

These anchors are excellent for a solid bottom hole, meaning the bottom of the anchor is against concrete. Hollow core concrete block will not hold the anchor long enough to grip the block unless numerous attempts using tiny fasteners accidentally allow expansion gripping the sides before being pushed through. I don't know why you cannot get the compression fittings that use a machine threaded bolt or screw and compress whether bottomed out or not. Mounting a garden hose reel requires a reliable anchor due to angular stresses in normal use. I don't know where you can find a reliable anchor since Home Depot don't carry them any more. I have not returned the anchors since they too will get used.

The anchors are holding up my mantel bolts very well.
