I've never done anything like this, but it was easy. I purchased the glue from DCT too, although videos show putting the glue on the tile and immediately sticking it to the ceiling, I found them to unstick. So I would let the glue sit for 15-20 minutes so it becomes sticky. It also is not easy to get tiles to hold to heavy areas of joint compound, like along edges of ceiling hallway and walls. You have to add extra glue because the compound is not as porous as clean sheetrock. Also you don't want to paint prior to installing if possible. It causes the tile to warp or bend in a concave way away from the ceiling. I have not tried the tiles on some of the popcorn ceilings yet, so I am interested in starting a small job to see how that goes. New addition rooms look incredible with these tiles.

The plain white, as I ordered, leads one to believe it is primer or something of the sort of white. It is actually styrofoam shiny weird white. It would be different if it was matte or just not raw styrofoam... but it’s not. Really not worth what you have to pay for this. I wouldn’t do it again. I gave it 3 starts instead of less because old school popcorn is also styrofoam beads. Not a new concept, this doesn’t mean it’s the best though. Please at least primer these tiles before they are sold to customers. Then it could be a good thing...

My Daughter and I love this tile. I did an antique silver finish and it looks just like old tin.

I looked at the pictures of the ceiling tiles about 100 times and thought they would look nice. When they arrived on Sunday we tore open the box and they are absolutely gorgeous and we can’t wait to see them on our ceiling!!!!

Easy to put up. I bought the white ones and they look a little like Chines food boxes, but they are pretty. In the future I'll definitely paint them or buy the beautiful painted ones that the company sells.

I decided to redo my bathroom, and wow, I realized what a disaster it was after I got started. I live in an old house, and nothing is level and no corners are square. The old owners had some type of tile ceiling they had painted over (badly). After some research I settled on glue-up styrofoam ceiling tiles. Let me tell you, they were SO easy to install! Any trimming was easily done with a utility knife. I primed and painted them first, which was the most time consuming part, as they are large and take up a lot of space while drying. My next step is foam crown molding, which I will 100% be buying from Decorative Ceiling Tiles. I highly recommend these tiles. Once painted and installed, you would never have any idea that they are styrofoam.

These tiles are amazing! I was really sceptical at first but gave it a shot and man am I glad I did. :-) The transformation was absolutely stunning. I have done this for a customer of mine, they were covering a popcorn ceiling and the could not believe how great it turned out. You see, the ceiling is the largest area of the room that does not get covered with furniture or art etc and so if you install these tiles, it is truly transformational.

Went up fast and easy, ceiling looks great!

installed in mud room/entrance adjoining kitchen in 1900 Victorian home. Contractor painted it to look like a tin ceiling and it turned out fabulous. Took a few tries as not all paint works well with this material. We love it and have had several compliments. We have had it about a month.

The description did not say these were foam, but once I got over that I love them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bruno 1.6 ft. x 1.6 ft. Foam Glue-up Ceiling Tile in Plain White is very simple and easy to apply to your ceiling or walls. I was originally going to do my ceiling and then I got an idea that this would look great as a accent wall in my bedroom. I was lucky enough to have enough to do both my ceiling and my wall. The foam is very smooth and I love the bubble looking design on it. We decided to paint the tiles black and the bubbles red. It was easy to paint and the paint went on smooth and looks great! I thought it might be a little difficult to put overtop of my popcorn ceiling but I was wrong. All you do is take the glue put it on the back of the tile and firmly place it on your ceiling. I had no problems at all applying the tile. It was so easy and simple to do I was able to do it by myself. If you're looking to redo your ceiling I would highly recommend using the Bruno 1.6 ft. x 1.6 ft. Foam Glue-up Ceiling Tile in Plain White. They have very nice designs to choose from and you can't beat how easy it is to put up. I'm very pleased with how well my room turned out!

I highly recommended watching youtube videos before installing but pretty easy to install when you get hold of it. My bathroom ceiling starting to look great as my daughter calls it fancy looking. The best part is how easy to make its adjustment and cut for corners and they hide the ugly stains on the ceiling. We have textured ceiling and tiles stay glued with no issue. Definitely recommended to update ceilings without the hassle and cover the imperfection.

They are lightweight and so easy to use they look flimsy, they are not. And I think you could paint them if you wanted. I was very impressed with how easy they were to install. They look great and gave a new fresh look to my bathroom.

We had a bathroom that had a old ceiling needing replaced and these tiles gave it a brand new look with a great design. They come in a case which will cover 21.6 sq. ft.

Install was super easy and amazingly fast. I live in an older home so cutting around wonky wall lines was a breeze....in fact I used my exactly knife. It took paint very well and looks like I paid much much more for it than it cost.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]  I was pleasantly surprised with the end result of these ceiling tiles.  I used them in a guest bedroom where I had recently done a lot of work, particularly on the ceiling, due to water damage.    While the tiles look kind of flimsy, they are actually quite sturdy and they are very, very lightweight. Cutting them was a breeze with a sharp utility knife,   I really like that they are larger tiles... more coverage with less work. The design on them really brings a new dimension room and in the room I used them in, they made the ceiling appear higher.    I painted the tiles off white. They really came out nice.  I believe that they would still look decent left unpainted, but my wife insisted that they were painted to make the room feel finished.    Installation was simple.  I added dots of glue on the back of the tiles and pressed firmly. Very easy. Once I got going, the whole ceiling in the room took me 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete.   I am completely satisfied with the look of these tiles. With the extra I have left over, I'm thinking about doing an accent wall.

My nephew installed them because he offered and has remodeling experience. The tiles are styrofoam so are lightweight and there were no problems installing. What a difference in the look of my hallway. We are very happy with the results.
