Light flashes
I've had this fan installed for about two years. Just recently the light portion started to flash, sometimes. When it flashes, it does so in a few different ways: 1)perfectly rhythmically 2) three quick flashes followed by no light for a short period, then three flashes, rinse and repeat. 3) one of the two above, then it will stay lit after about 30 seconds. The fan is still quiet though.

    Nice ceiling fan and light
This is a nice ceiling fan and light for a bathroom. It is not too loud and provides a lot of illumination. I was not able to wire up the humidity sensor since I couldn't get additional wires from the ceiling to the switch box so I just wired it as fan and light "both on" by tying up the green wires to ground, all white wires together and all black wires together with wire caps.

      Happy with results overall
The light once installed, it is great. Overall the instructions are lacking. You need to purchase a UL connector separately. We didn't realize when we purchased it that since we only have one light switch you can't use the humidity sensor. There was not a wiring diagram for one switch, only for two switches or three switches. We were able to find a video from the company on YouTube that did describe being able to cap the brown wire to make it work with one switch.

        Super Quiet and Solid
I wanted a quiet and well built fan that looked good. This Broan delivered. I didn’t use the moisture sensing feature. I hooked the light into the same circuit as the other lights in the bathroom and hooked the fan to a second switch. Easy to use, which is important as it is a first floor bath that guests use. Pretty easy to install as well. Mine was a new installation.

Installed after not having an exhaust fan
Our bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan and I bought this along with the roof vent kit and I’ve had it about 2 days so far and the bathroom no longer steams up and already feels so much better!

We are fans of this fan.
The installation was a bit EXHAUSTing. Get it? Anyway, it works great. It efficiently removes steam from the shower. The mirrors don't even fog up anymore. As a bonus, the fan is strong enough that it removes doo-doo feces odors from 4-alarm chili nights. Seriously, some of our dumps are the stuff of legend. This fan quickly extricates the offending poo particles, leaving behind only the faint remnants of Clorox bathroom cleaner.

The installation was very straight forward. The fan is fairly quiet, I’m not sure yet exactly how effective it is. The bluetooth feature, I love! My only wish is, that the bluetooth could work with the light off.

Isn’t what you think it is
The fan works, but… This fan does NOT have any sort of humidity detection. Just a simple wire to a motor. The fan housing was also missing the metal lips to mount the light bracket to, so I filled the housing with wooden pieces and screwed the light bracket into the wood. I expected the fan to be more quite than it is but I don’t have any sound measuring device so that’s just my judgement. And I wasn’t able to mount the fan into any beams since the housing doesn’t come with much mounting options

              Hi Mels,
We are sorry to learn of your experience with the AERN80LWH fan and light model. This model does not provide any type of humidity sensing. It is a fan and light only. We would not recommend modifying the unit, which can void the warranty. Please contact Technical Support directly if you feel you are missing a part at 888-336-6151. Modifying the unit can affect the sound and performance. Broan-NuTone

                  Instant Regret
                  1. instructions are garbage. missing lots of little gotchas that wasted my time. 2. Color temp of the bulb is not Warm white aka 2700-3000 Kelvin. This is closer to 4300K cool white. My grey walls are blue now. 3. Replacement bulb costs more than the whole thing. Lookup part 1100623 for yourself.

Hi Dana, Thank you for your feedback on model AERN80LWH. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with this unit. You are correct this is more of a soft white light as the LED for this model is a16-Watt integrated LED with a 3500K color temperature. The LED module lasts up to 15,000 hours for maintenance-free convenience, but this model does have a 3 year warranty from date of purchase, should the LED require replacement within that time frame. We do apologize you did not find our instructions to be useful, our Technical Support Team is available at 888-336-6151 if they can be of any assistance.

                      LED light doesn’t work.
We purchased this light a month ago and noticed the actual LED light was missing in the box so we returned it for a new set up. We installed the new unit and it worked for a week and now half of the LED is out. This seems to be a common problem.

This fan is extremely quiet and much nicer than my old fan! The light is a perfect brightness for my bathroom as well. My installer had no problems putting it in. I'm glad I selected this model! I did not purchase a humidity sensor.. so I can't review that part of the fan.

This is the first time I installed a ceiling exhaust fan. I found the installation much easier than anticipated. I bought this model because the faceplate cover the existing hole in my ceiling. Another feature I find attractive is that the fan and light can be controlled by different wall switches. I leave the fan switch in the on position all the time. The humidity sensor will signal the fan to turn on once the humidity hits a certain level. I strongly recommend this product. I will need another one in the near future for my kids bathroom.

Attractive and Relatively quiet unit - Light is NOT a WARM WHITE LIGHT - it is definitely Bright White - Blue tint
Overall I would give a positive rating for this exhaust fan-light but for one exception. The Pros: room-side installation and size of the unit, template on the side of the box, quietness (I don't believe it is 0.8 sones, but it's quiet enough). The Con - and it's a big one: the light is NOT "Warm White". It is advertised as being 3500K color temperature and it's not close to that. This is a bright white light (I'd guess 5000-6000K) and it's not working for me. If you look at the photos, you will see how "cool" this light is... not warm at all. I installed it in my lower level bath during a full remodel along with a SONNEMAN Lighting Tubo Slim LED Bath Bar that I have used in another bathroom. That is a 3000K light, so 3500K would match up fine. But this Broan-Nutone casts such a blue-white light, the colors in the room are distorted to cool tones. But now I have installed it - in my newly refinished/painted, flawless ceiling and I don't know what I can do, but return it and hope I can find a suitable replacement that doesn't require a smaller opening in the ceiling. I reached out to Broan-Nutone and they ignored me. One more complaint for Broan-Nutone - don't advertise that your product is made in the US when a major component (the light) is made in China and is falsely advertised as being 3500K color temperature and it's not. Clearly you just throw it in the box without checking to make sure it meets spec. However, if you have a lighting unit that is actually 3500K, I'd love to have you send me one.

                          Hidden hardware
Don't throw out the mounting kit, Study the wire schematic, scratch head, read it again, you can do this! Set the Humidity switch to sensitive because humidity is bad. Use two switch configuration because who really needs three switches to operate a fan? Really? OK.

Per installer, the directions were complex. He ended up YouTubeing how to install! The light is very bright, which I love! Much brighter than I expected. It is not as quiet as I had hoped or was expecting but still better than the old very loud fan we replaced. As mentioned by another reviewer, my bathroom is small, yet I still see steam on the mirror (for reference the fan is installed very close to the shower). I'm not sure if I was expecting too much or if this is normal. Either way, it's a little disappointing. Overall I would have to give it 3 stars because it does look good and provides sufficient lighting.

Good fan. Bad instructions. White light.
As several others have mentioned, the instruction manual could use some clarification. I completely missed the first two steps which involved removing the fan from the housing and installing two small brackets inside the housing. I figured out I had to remove the blower when it came time to install the housing on the joist and the illustration looked nothing like what I was seeing, because I had a blower in the way still. Once I had it mounted to the joist I inserted the motor again and carried on. It wasn’t until I was trying to mount the bracket that holds the light assembly on that I realized I had neglected to install the brackets that the brackets mount to, which I later found at the very beginning of the instructions. I think my oversight was because I saw the heading for Retrofit Installation and just proceeded from there. Also the brackets were in a completely separate box from the other parts so I wasn’t thinking they needed to be installed yet. Thankfully they can be installed easily after the housing is wired, ducted and attached to the joist. Phew! I had a moment here where I thought I might have to undo all my work and start over. The overall build quality feels very good though, especially once the light bracket and assembly goes on. It’s solid metal that anchors together nicely. Fan is quiet, and performs well especially compared to our old 2.5 sondes / 50cfm builder grade unit. My biggest complaint is the light quality itself. It doesn’t feel like it’s really 3500k to my eyes. I’m very particular on getting color temp right with LED bulbs, and this one feels more like 4500 or even 5k. It’s a clean bright light but it feels really out of place in my house when everything else (including the vanity) is around 2700-3000k. As soon as I showed my wife the efforts of my afternoon, her deadpan response was “Whoa. That’s a little bright isn’t it?” Thankfully I ran new 14-3 wire from the switch to the ceiling and can now control the light and fan independently. I think I’ll be returning this for one without the light though as we both much prefer it off.

The box of this fan when I received it said east install. 2.5 days later and having to have it professionally installed it is finally working, and even the profession struggled for a day. Even though the light is good and the sound is very low, it doesn’t even do what it is supposed to. I calculated the CFM that I needed (100) but decided to go with more rather than less. My mirror was completely foggy with moisture all over. I can’t take it out now because it will cost me a fortune to now have uninstalled and replaced. Do not buy.

This 80 CFM and 0.8 sones bathroom exhaust fan is quiet, vents well, dimmable and looks great. I like the sleek round design. I finally decided to upgrade the old Pana$ exhaust fan that was getting noisy. This NuTone exhaust fan is great! Enough suction remove all the moisture and smells from the a 8 x10 bathroom. The LED lights are a nice touch and provide even and bright illumination. The installation was not difficult at all. I checked all the measurements beforehand, so I knew it would fit without me needing to cut into the ceiling. The opening needs to be 10.5” x 9.75” and the air duct is 4”. The exhaust hose is sold separately. Since I was doing a retrofit, I had to fold over the “ears” flush against the box/frame of the exhaust fan. The blower itself needed to be removed so I could screw the box-frame to the joist. After it was secured, I reconnected the duct to the hose and reinstalled the blower. The wiring diagram was fairly simple to follow and I installed my light separate from the fan on two switches. The switches are sold separately. I got a On/Off switch for the light and a timer for the fan. I like the efficiency of the LEDs, brighter, dimmable and doesn’t heat up. The light is rated at 16 watts and 1,100 lumens, which is around the equivalent of a 100w bulb in brightness. The color temp is 3,500K which is closer to a warm white. Overall, this is a nice exhaust fan. I can certainly recommend it to anyone doing a retrofit since no attic access is needed.

Good, not great. I really wanted to love this light/fan, and I do love the installed look, but it leaves a lot to be desired. It's not one major issue, it's a death by a thousand cuts. The included damper isn't balanced very well and the plastic flap has a tendency to bounce open and closed and create a banging noise... especially during windy days. The fan has this big capacitor or battery pack hanging inside. It's not tucked away anywhere, got in the way during installed and bangs around when the fan is spinning. I had to reopen everything and zip tie it out of the way. I did like the flush/slim profile and the opening for the fan to suck in air. Noise is about what I would expect from a fan this size and it moves enough air to de-fog the bathroom mirror during a shower. The instructions leave a lot to be desired and the overall budget feels value engineered. If you're in a pinch, it's not a bad fan, but I would suggest shopping around to see what else is out there.

It’s very easy to install if you’re replacing an existing fan as long as the opening can accommodate the needed 10-1/2 by 9-3/4 this one needs. The entire replacement it’s done from the inside so there is no need to have attic access. The instructions are very clear with illustration and easy to understand. The light is kind of night but it’s dimmable and there are no light bulbs to replace since these are integrated LED which should last for many years.

This is a nice bathroom exhaust fan/light. It comes with instructions and hardware to install the fan. Two parts (housing brackets) were missing, but they weren't needed to complete the installation. The directions were somewhat easy to follow. You may need wire connection parts if you aren't replacing an existing fan. I was still able to install the fan without issues. To note, you need to attach the light assembly into the plastic body of the fan housing with wood screws, which seems unusual but that is what is in the directions. Also, I needed to buy a 4"-to-3" reducer to attach the fan exhaust port to the existing exhaust vent pipe. The fan and light assembly are made with quality materials. It looks nice after installation. The paint on the light housing is smooth and even. The LED light is bright and the fan is quiet. My expectations have been exceeded.

Ok. I love the look of this exhaust. I have been wanting an upgrade over the builder install in my bathroom, but I should have researched what I truly needed. My home was built in the early 00’s and has a standard exhaust fan installed. I wanted to install this in my master bathroom on the second floor. I wanted it for the toilet which is like a closet with in my master bathroom because the toilet is kept separate. So it is a very small room with a very high ceiling. Even when standing on the next to last step of my ladder it was hard to reach up to remove my old fan. So maybe if I had a taller ladder it would have been a little easier to install. The next thing I realized is that my old fan and the new fan are not the same size and I would need a drywall saw to cut a hole in my ceiling for it to fit. Fortunately the box that the new fan comes in has a template on the box that you can cut out and trace on your ceiling so that you can easily cut the size that you need. However I did not feel comfortable as a 5 foot tall woman to stand on top of my ladder to reach my 10 foot tall ceilings and cut into it. Now that I’ve removed my old fan, I can’t even put it back because I’m too short! So I am going to have to hire someone to install it for me and see if it is a good fit for me. However this exhaust fan has a lot of nice features it’s stylish and I love the design it’s just not an easy install for a novice person like me.

Many people aware their bathroom mostly found mildew on their tub or shower wall, sometime bad smell or dull gas , because the bathroom without proper ventialation. Even you have window open. Set up a ventilation fan is one of the best way to solve out those problem. Nutone introduce this newly bathroom exhaust fan with LED light built together at a affordable price, that is is good for you to plan to install one in your bathroom. Materialize, the housing is made by galvanized sheet metal and the vent fan is made of plastic. I think it using plastic to lower the weight to cut down weight loading to the motor. Size is good with freely square openned vent hole on the housing, which is well match for 80 CFM given out. A plastic exhuast spout is included for you can connect the vent to exhaust pipe. for energy save, a LED white shaped light is attached together for you can get both ventilation of the air and light for lights up your bathroom. Practically, that is good idea of the design. Safe the space and lesser your installation work if you install separately. I test the motor is running vey quiet and aair flow is freely smooth. Everything is fine and well bulit. Plus the price I'm happy with it. For installation, if you're other than a DIY, better you may hire a Pro to complete the installation for you. Lastly, make sure you have a lnlet vent on your bathroom door to let the fresh flow in.

My 25 year old exhaust fan stopped working. Our shower area is enclosed and steam builds up when taking a shower. This fan does an excellent job in clearing out the steam and moisture. The fan is surprisingly strong yet quiet. The light attachment hides the fan and provides a bright light. Only short coming is the wires are a bit short making it a bit of a challenge to connect to existing wiring. If only the wires were about 2 inches longer it would have been much easier to complete installation. The fan performs very well.

This NuTone bathroom exhaust fan is a great fan for a smaller bathroom (maximum 75 square feet). Most of my exhaust fans (including my range hood) are NuTone because the quality is great and they just don't break down! This particular bathroom exhaust fan has an LED light which can be replaced when it "burns out" by ordering that entire LED segment. The light and fan can be wired to work on one switch or can be wired separately. It's also Energy Star Certified. Fits within 2 x 6 construction and has four-point mounting directly to the joist. I'm having this installed by my electrician but the bathroom is still gutted and waiting for drywall and plumbing. My daughter has this fan in her bathroom and it's very quiet (0.8 sones) and the light is a soft white color and is dimmable with the appropriate switch. The air volume is 80CFM which is sufficient for a small bathroom. If you don't have attic access, this fan is perfect for you. This fan is not approved for over the shower or bathtub. Uses 4" ducts. Instructions for both new construction and retrofit mounting. The look of this fan is great. It's round with a white cover and low profile. Does not take away from any other fixtures that you put in your bathroom.
