I don't know yet how well this stuff holds up as a stain blocker. I just used it a couple of months ago half way through my tile job. I tiled my whole house myself. I grouted the living room without this stuff. Very time consuming and hard to clean up. I used this stuff on the rest of the house. It made the grout so easy to work with. The grout was more slippery. It slid around and into the so easily. The clean up was way easier also. No haze left behind.

Used this before on the backsplash in my old kitchen. Works great and you do not have to worry if something gets on the grout.

Over priced moose milk

Bought on advice of Home Depot sales guy but wouldn't buy again. Its easy enough to mix but I feel like you still need to apply a sealer which probably accomplishes the same thing. Its pretty expensive for the limited benefit.

The image on the bottle gives the impression that StainBlocker for Grout helps repel water, which in turn would help prevent stains. This product just helps make your grout stronger and impervious to dirt.It also leaves light and dark patches in the grout

Ok, maybe there’s an application for this somewhere, but this doesn’t do anything a sealer wouldn’t do. As people have mentioned, it’s not a sealer, so you have to seal it afterwards anyway. It only blocks stains (so the reviews say) and so does a sealer. So the only time this would be of any use is if you physically cannot seal the grout after installation. Almost any time you want tile and grout will be in a moisture rich or stain rich environment so a sealer is basically a must. I only mixed it in one batch of grout and it was a total nightmare to apply and clean. I’m not saying that was the fault of this product... but I’m not saying it’s not... I don’t plan to use the rest of the bottle on my other jobs and I certainly do not plan on ever buying it again!

Great product and works well. Our contractor uses it on his jobs when appropriate.

Left white spots in the grout

Blends in great with the grout. I feel the amount of water to additive recommended leaves the grout way too dry. Had to add a bit more water.

Grout comes up

Hard to use. Once mixed in with grout, it has specks of color in it and whenever you wiped, the color specks streaked. Had to wipe a lot.
