Well,it hasn't been used yet. It was a gift for my son- in-laws new shop, but I will tell you, he was thrilled with getting it. He loves Dewalt tools and can't wait for the shop to be finished.

The item when ever you pull the hose, it does not retract. The spring action is very weak. the assembly is leaning to the left and it doesn't sit straight. Will not but another dewalt equipment again

Extremely sturdy, the fit and finish is what you would expect from Dewalt. Mounted on wall with ease, with included template and made my life easier by not having a hose around the shop and has held up to frequent use.

Seems to be a good unit. The retracting spring could be stronger.

Only had a few months and it quit stopping at certain lengths when I pull it out...I bought this and paid good money thinking I was getting a superior product....it is well built and sturdy but if one of the main features like the ratchet spring mechanism breaks, then it is of no use....I don't use it all that much but to think I have to stick something in the end of it now to hold it in position when I pull the hose out is ridiculous...I've sent several emails but never get replies....very frustrated with Dewalt since I own thousands of dollars of Dewalt tools I expected this to not fail in just 6 months.....

First time I hooked up this reel it leaked air at the connection at the center of the reel. Had to replace with another that did not leak. Quality does not appear to be any better than cheaper no-name versions.

I did some planning for my situation in advance. In the end I had bought 4-3/8" lag bolts w/washers for the base plate, and 2-5/16" lag bolts w/washers (for a spacer 2x6 piece). Pre-drilled pilot holes. It all came together in less than 30-minutes. Love it! Keeps the compressor in one place, by the workbench (for the other fitting). Reaches truck and the mower on the other side of the truck. Retracts all the way by itself. Highly recommended.

The click-n-pawl mechanism on mine was dead on arrival (DOA). I could see it scratching the surface of the wheel meaning that it had a burr on it and was getting stuck and not engaging to lock the wheel when rotating. Besides that, the arm and swivel hardware looked pretty stout. The sheet metal on the wheel is thin gauge. The hose had some flat spots and inclusions on it that may bulge or act as weak points when put under repeated pressurization. If the unit fails a basic functionality test like locking as intended then it is not being properly tested in the factory. That's why I gave it 1 star. 3.5 stars for construction though.

I gave it to a Very Good Friend of mine as he was moving into a new home and needed it for his garage. He said that it works REALLY GREAT.

Very stout and well built hosecreel. Great hose. Heavy! Probably not appropriate for typical homeowner. If you are a DIY person and have air tools with high cfm needs. This is for you. 1/2" hose delivers lots of air. Love it!
