Overall a nice knife but the blade constantly pulls out when cutting anything else but box tape. Basically making ìt useless. In the garbage it goes.

When trying to insert new blade for 1st time- it...

When trying to insert new blade for 1st time- it would not retract all the way in. Had to use WD40 to loosen the track before it worked finally. Poor quality control from DeWalt on a brand new item!

It's pretty bad when one has to have a manual to figure out how to work a box cutter. Tried and tried and could not figure it out so went over to my neighbor and he couldn't figure it out either. Returned it and got a basic box cutter which works without a college degree to figure out how to use it

I could not even use this knife because the blades are locked in a compartment that is like a challenge puzzle. No information on the package or on the Dewalt website to explain how to get to the blades. Returned for refund.

Poor Design

Supposedly a Rapid change blade design????? You have to totally disassemble the knife to change the blade. I own a lot of Dewalt tools. This by far is the worst design. Don't buy this one.

Just got it. Have spent two days trying to get the blade in. Won't go. Have spent two days trying to get it to fold. Won't fold. What was Dewalt thinking letting this be sold to the public? Now I have to return it and can't finish my project. Thanks Dewalt!

Horrible design Extremely Inefficient

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE So difficult to get blades out & DESTROYS workflow and efficiency. The REALLY TOUGH thing is I’m an avid Dewalt tool guy. Shocked they would even have a product like this!!!! Truly expected way better than this. On my way to return NOW!

Used 5 days a week for 2.5 years

Overall a great knife that feels really good and sturdy in hand. I used it 5 days a week for 2.5 years. The extra blade storage cover hinge broke about after about 1.5 years in so I had to keep duct tape around it to hold it on. Then just recently the metal near where the knife folds in the center began to break into pieces making the knife unusable as it would open too far and not always allow the blade to retract all the way. Knocked off a star for the weaknesses in the broken parts.

Retractable?

I've watched the video about a dozen times. Played with all the buttons on this knife. Can't figure out how to get this knife to fold in half. I've called DeWalt and contacted their website. They gave me a link to the Home Depot video which was zero help. Deep voice narrator was really good. Step by step instructions sucked though. My suggestion: Invest more money in instructions and less money in voice-overs. Won't buy another DeWalt device until hell freezes over.
