These Shut Off valves are stated toi be 1/2" (.500) but they are actually 16MM (.629921) thereforem it makes for a problem getting a .500 hose over them.

Hi Vance: Thank you for the review. These valves are designed for low pressure drip irrigation systems, which utilize thin-walled poly tubing. It's called half inch but that is just a nominal term. Smooth, 1/4 turn operation and complete shut of of flow. Handle is easy to turn and I love the visibility of the blue top so it is easy to see where I put these shut offs in the system. Have had none of them break yet and this is our 2nd year using them.

Listed as 1/2 in but printed on it says 5/8 in
The unit is too big for Rain Bird 1/2 inch irrigation tubing. Even though it is listed online AND in the store as 1/2 inch it is 5/8 inch (and the bottom of the valve itself says 5/8 inch). If yon hold it up to other brands that are advertised as 1/2 inch you’ll see this is too big. Rain Bird same type valve is actually 1/2 inch.
