I bought these for use on my sun shade that I just installed and they work fantastic. The best may to use them is to loosen them all the way up, with only a few threads coming through the opening in the middle. The make your adjustments after the product is hung up. I ended up making slight adjustments over a period of about a week, each day, because the sun shade would slack up a bit and expand in the summer heat. After all of my adjustments I still have about an inch of space left in the middle in case I need it. The easiest way I've found to make the adjustments under tension is to run a screwdriver through the middle between the threaded ends and turn. Depending on how much line you have, you might have to hold one side to prevent the line from turning as well. These turnbuckles are sturdy and don't deform under applied force.

I am using the Everbilt 3/8 in. X 10 1/2 in. Turnbuckle as the adjusting point for my Shade Sail. Works Very good, makes adjusting the tension on my sail a snap.

This is a great way to add tension to a cable when hanging string lights.

It would be a 6* rating if those lousy bar code stickers could be removed cleanly & with a whole lot less effort. I spent hours on the sticker removals on the last job.

This turnbuckle works just like it should, I am not sure of what the body metal is, but it is not magnetic. The body and the threads hold up well to over-stressing, the body held up well when squished in a vice, and pried on to turn and tighten the turnbuckle. The threads were not easily stripped when over-tightened. It is definitely better quality than the turnbuckles with the soft aluminum bodies. It is about 6" long at the shortest and about 9" long fully expanded. The loop has about an 1/2" inside diameter and the rod is 5/16" diameter. All in all does just what it is supposed to do.

Handy for tightening a cable. One end has an eye, the other end a hook. The eye end is the end with a left-hand thread. When this turnbuckle is tightened to its smallest size it is just over 6-1/2 inches long. It has a maximum length of just over 9 inches. The amount it can pull in is almost 3 inches. If the tension is getting high, one can tighten the turnbuckle by inserting a screwdriver into its body and turning it more. The ‘eye’ end has a dent in the ring from the manufacturing process. The 5/16 in. x 9-3/8 in. Zinc-Plated Turnbuckle Hook/Eye is well built at an affordable price. I needed to install some cables to support an antenna. The frustrating thing is that when you think you have everything nice and taught you let go and see the slack in the cable. Try as you might, that slack always comes back. The turnbuckle to the rescue. Installing this turnbuckle in-line with the cable I was able to make small adjustments until I had the perfect amount of tension. The turnbuckle was simple to use and gives me the impression that it will hold up well against the elements.

The turnbuckle has a tendency to back itself off after setting tension. They need to come with locking jam nuts.

A good quality product for a decent price.

Its a turnbuckle and strong. Match it with 1/4" cable and you are set.

It’s strong. The only problem with this device is both ends are threaded differently. You cannot put a half open hook on each side or an enclosed hook on both sides based on how it was threaded. For the project I needed this for I had to put a bolt through the closed end.

Used two of these to adjust and level a shelf holding a heavy speaker. 15" woffer, large midrange horn and triple tweeter. These hooked to a 16 gage steel wire made adjusting the shelf easy.
