Smaller than JVM6175YKFS
Use to own JVM6175SF1SS and try to find a same size model. But JVM6175YKFS is a little smaller than previous one. So there are 1/2 inches gap if use the old blacket.

Good enough unit with a strange design choice.
A reasonable replacement for the retired 15 year old unit that was nearly identical. This new one has an odd design choice that is worth addressing. The fan vents through an opening at the front top of the unit. The opening has no grate or grill to prevent things from falling into it. Seems to be an strange situation. I don't like that. Other than that, if it holds up, this unit will suit our needs.

Good microwave. Display is a little too bright
Overall, it’s a microwave and does its job. 2 things I’m not crazy about:
1. We replaced a 10ish year old GE unit that was very similar. None of the holes for mounting were the same. The wall frame was different and needed different holes. And the holders weren’t a perfect match once the frame was directly screwed in, for some reason. I had to drill a new hole C after it was up. The under-cabinet holes were in slightly different spots, too. And the template wasn’t quite right, making it a lot tougher to get the unit fully installed. It worked out, but I had to make a few adjustments, and it was a lot of groaning and lifting awkwardly.
2. The display is WAY too bright. You can adjust the speed of message scrolling, but not brightness. I guess we’ll adjust, but it’s actually obnoxiously bright from all around the kitchen. I wish we could cut the brightness down by like 50-60%. You can turn the clock off completely, but we do want a clock. Just not this bright.
Since none of the mounting aligned, I would have looked at other brands, but thought going with the new version of our old unit would mean at least one hole would line up. Kinda disappointing. I would have looked for a less bright or adjustable unit.

Do not recommend!
Very pretty stainless steal microwave and fit my kitchen nicely, but after about 1.5 years after professional installation it’s completely broken. I opened it up to look at the panel and the thermostat is melted! Buyer beware!

Poor ventilation
This microwave works the same as my 25 yrs old kenmore. But the ventilation is useless. For being a new technology, I expect better, but that is not the case ay all. The fan sounds very loud but has no suction power at all. Very disappointing.

Love my GE!
I have had this microwave for about a month & all I can say is wow! My Samsung gave out after 5 years, & I currently have a GE stove which I live & thought I would get a GE microwave to match it. So glad I did! I got it on sale which is also a plus. First off, it knows when your food is at the right temperature based on the sensor technology. I’m so shocked each time I put leftover food & it makes it taste like it was just made. I do a lot of take out & I think most people know when fries get cold, that’s the end lol, but I I zapped it in this microwave & it tasted the same! Unbelievable! I recently used the popcorn function & it was perfectly popped by the sensor. In all, I am so happy I bought the microwave; & if you’re unsure, I am telling you to take the plunge & buy this awesome microwave. It has a lot of functions, makes you think, “dang is this how everybody else lives?!”

poor Q/C to be broken out of the box. zero troubleshooting from GE
Bad out of the box. Doesnt heat at all plate doesnt spin even when turned on. Called GE they wanted to send somebody out for service. When its not 24 hours old it isnt going tk get worked on. GE doesnt offer tech support and troubleshooting. They wanted me to call Home Depot to see what they could do. When a conpamy makes so much that they would rather send somebody out then have tech support they are making too much money. Our time is valuable as well as for fingerprint resistant?
