We are very sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with the product you purchased. All of our garden soils use aged wood fines, which does make our garden soil look different than other soils. We use aged wood fines for three reasons: 1.) Adds structure to native soil which helps air and water penetrate deeper into the soil, helping with root development for greater plant health. 2.) Helps retain moisture to reduce the need to water frequently. 3.) Wood fines are an excellent food source for beneficial microbes, which helps with pest and disease resistance.
