Outstanding Makita quality but...............x-lock cut-off discs, flap discs, and grinding wheels are UNAFFORDABLE AND HARD TO FIND! Maybe they will catch on an be available as aftermarket consumables but for now hold off on the x-lock. I should have checked into it but then the grinder was free with my purchase. I can see why now.

Really comfortable Grinder in the Hand and a joy to use when you need it. The break on this grinder is nice and stops right away. I also have the Dewalt grinder but prefer the Makita due to its smoothness and x-lock capability.

A great new product with reasonablly priced accessories
After a recent struggle to swap disc with my 10-year old Makita corded angle grinder with fixed guard, I jumped on this new 18V grinder with toolless disc swap and guard rotation。 I understand the X-lock is a new tech and the cutting/grinding discs will priced higher -- still reasonable though, especailly the metal cutting disc that sold in 3+2 pack for $10 at HD. With all those benefits, the first operation of the tool still surprised me -- compared to my old unit, this new model is quiter with much less vibration, i.e. smooth, when cutting rebars. Now I am waiting for the online ordered masonary cut disc to test it on flag stones, which is the main purpose of this purchase.
