Poor quality merchandise

So far so good. Need to cap a rusted drain before it got repaired and this plug did the trick.

I installed this plug on my basement floor and I have no more smell which was strong.

Our village sent out a notice of power back washing the sewer lines. I wanted this plug as a "Just in Case" measure. It worked like a champ. I have heard some of my neighbors had problems but because the village sent out the message and a little pro-action, my basement was dry.

Worked perfectly to plug up a 4” pipe left uncapped by the builder.

It’s certainly easy to find, in our front yard. I don’t think, if these even we re made, when we bought this house 30 years ago, that I would have been able to find one. Our clean out doesn’t have threads on it, so this works great!

Perfect fit to cover the outside drain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are going to be doing any plumbing or remodeling this is a must. I pulled my toilet to put down a new ceramic floor and this plug kept all the mast sewer gasses from filling up the house!

I'm not a certified plumber, yet I've done lots of plumbing. This compresses the rubber seal for a leak free application even within a rough uneven rusted surface like what I've dealt with.

Too tight in a toilet drain. There are other products that work better.

The gripper was too large and would not fit into the cast iron sewer pipe. So I returned it and used the 3 inch gripper, which works fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Oatey 4" mechanical End-of-Pipe plug is very well made and ergonoical. The wingnut is large with wide ears making it easy to tighten down. The fit is good and it seals/does it job well!

For those afraid of dropping this in the drain, order some nylon string. An ounce of prevention beats a pound of cr@p ! Otherwise, expand it fully before fitting, then slowly retract until it will barely slip in, insert, then tighten. However, keep in mind that this is really only intended for pressure testing a system, not all the clever uses you guys are coming up with. It should not be used as a cool new projectile for your potato cannon. (Where did my wife put her hair spray and my PVC pipe? I've got to try that.)

The fit is tight and secure and water free. Love them
