Phillips LED Bulbs for a brighter future
Have change out almost all my bulbs in the house to the Phillips led 8.5 watts bulbs. What a different that these bulb have over the florescent swirl-er bulbs, instant light when you flip the switch, brighter light, and almost half of the watts to run these lights. I have been telling friends and relatives about these bulbs as most have no ideal as how to figure the energy use.

Plenty of light
I don't noticed any buzzing noise from these at all. Excellent value when you can get two for $5.00. Plenty of light for me.

60W LED 2-Pack replacement bulbs - great product and a great value!
I replaced all my CFL bulbs with these LED bulbs. The bulb style is very similar to a standard bulb, and lighting is perfect - you can't easily tell the difference from a regular incandescent bulb. The lighting is great, and the value (in the 2-pack from Home Depot) is unbeatable. I bought (10) 2-Packs and replaced all my lamp bulbs at the same time and am very happy with the light quality and performance.

This bulb at this pricepoint with this quality is a game changer. This will chnage how America see's in the dark.
I have been buying LED bulbs for a few years. The best bulb I found for under $5 that produced 600 lumens at another location was the best I could find. Color of light not so great, that's the old competition BUT, this new Philips bulb puts out 800 lumens (60W Equivalent) , color is perfect and price is the best ever of any LED bulb ever sold. Two bulbs for $4.98 is a tremendous bargain. Buy these by the dozen. Do not use this bulb in a dimmer. You will love the color of the light. No warm up time. This one bulb will change how America see's in the dark. Lets burn less coal, less gas and less plutonium. Dear Philips Corp, you just put out a winner, thank you for this high quality low cost technology America and the world has been waiting for. Now we need a (75/100Watt equivalent) LED bulb at a good price point, as for now, they are to expensive. Herb H, Marietta, GA

The bulbs work well indoors and give great light without issue. However, when used outside, at least in the Mid-West, they're flickering and tying out after 4 months pretty consistently when used for about 8 hours an evening on a timer. I'd recommend for indoors but not outside use (even when encased in fixture).

Early failure (13 months), no where near the average 10,000 hours. Under warranty but the typical situation exists = send the defective bulb back with receipt and they will send a replacement. Cost to send bulb isn't worth it and who keeps a bulb receipt for a year? Philips got me as a customer one time, now I'll go elsewhere. Great business practices for company longevity

These bulbs have a good color and are the perfect size. I used them in a chandelier that takes a medium base, but has limited clearance. Many LED bulbs are just a little taller than the equivalent incandescent ad do not fit, but these look great. Price was awesome as well.

        Annoying Hum
Picked these up when purchasing a four light vanity fixture because of the amazing Phillips thin body LEDs I used for drop canister lights in my kitchen. These are bright but they have a very noticeable hum. I purchased additional lights to replace other incandescent bulbs in the house. I will be returning the extras and plan to try another brand in the A19 form factor. Of course this means I will probably have to spend more.

          Cleaner, whiter light
I just bought several of these among other LED bulbs to upgrade my house from the CFL disaster that was there when I moved in. I used these where I needed less light, in the bedrooms and bathroom. I installed 4 in the bathroom in an upside down configuration and the difference was illuminating. They provide a much cleaner, brighter, white light than the old bulbs. I buy LEDs primarily for this aspect with cooler operation and energy savings second and third order benefits respectively.

Solid performer at a fair price.
This is a very nice LED bulb, especially for the price. The form factor is identical to traditional incandescent bulbs. The globe is plastic, not glass. The color temperature is warm and inviting. The light is evenly distributed, there are no "hot spots" or shadows visible when viewing the naked bulb. Two caveats: 1) This bulb cannot be used in fully enclosed light fixtures. Many LED bulbs cannot be used in such fixtures, because the heat buildup will degrade their electronics and they will suffer from decreased lifespan. (Pro-tip, even if the packaging doesn't say if a bulb can be used in an enclosed fixture, the bulb itself will usually have a warning printed on the base of the bulb if it cannot be used in enclosed fixtures.) 2) This bulb has a shorter lifespan than other LED bulbs that are rated for 20,000 hours. This one is rated for 10,000. However, since it is less than half the cost of bulbs that last twice as long, it is still a very good value.

          Great LED bulb
Time will tell if these LED bulbs will last the number of years indicated on the packaging. I have one that is left on all night every night, so that is about 7 hours per day. Overall good quality so far, the brightness is equal to better than CFL bulbs. It does not heat up or take time to brighten. It has immediately brightness which is nice. The yellow tone (soft) is equal to older bulbs. I have them installed on ceiling fans too so time will tell if it takes vibrations better than CFL. For the price, you can't go wrong. These are better and have longer life than the ones sold at the other big box home improvement store.

          Great bulbs, cheap and bright.
Simply put, they are modern light bulbs. Cool to touch, easy to use, simple to install. Bright, no more waiting on them to warm up like CFL's. As my CFL's burn out i'm replacing them with these. cheaper cost = less warranty and life ratings, but they are well worth the price.

          Good light, but loud hum
The bulb has a great price and a nice color of light. Also, the direction of the light is even across all angles of the bulb. Also, I liked that there is a larger glass surface area than other LED bulbs. The only downside that I found, however, was a deal breaker: there is a loud humming noise. I installed three of these in a bathroom light fixture, over a sink, and the noise was very pronounced. I would happily pay $1-$5 more a bulb simply to not have the humming noise. I want to like these bulbs, but the noise is simply not acceptable.

Good light for a great value
This package is hard to find as the display is typically buried. You will need to go to the back of the lightbulb area or search around the lighting department. The light quality is very good. It's instant-on and full-wave filtered so you get the full 120 Hz light output. The warm-white color at 2700K has a fairly even spectrum with no obvious tinge, superior to CFL and other cheap LED's but not quite as warm as incandescent. The bulb is nearly a standard A19 package, but it's slightly flattened at the top and bulged out at the sides. This helps it to broadcast the light evenly around the fair-sized collar. Clip-on lampshades still work, and it fits well into any standard fixture. Note that the manufacturer does not recommend installing it into enclosed fixtures (but with the low wattage and the high efficiency, heat dissipation is not really a big problem). I assume they're worried about the bulb baking under the sun in enclosed outdoor fixtures. LED's slowly fade with age, so many lighting providers compensate by underrating the LED element so that you get a brighter bulb than the equivalent wattage rating when brand new. This bulb does provide the expected light output initially, so you won't be surprised by an over-bright bulb. However you can expect it to get dimmer with time (I expect to move older bulbs to 40W applications as they age.)

            Excellent basic light bulb
This light bulb is perfect for those places where you need light for a short period of time, such as hallways and closets. In those locations, the relatively short life is not an issue since you will probably be long gone before the bulb goes. Yet, you do not want a squiggly thing there because frequent short duty will ruin those bulbs. These, on the other hand, are not affected. No, they are not the longest lasting bulbs available. If you are placing a bulb where changing one requires a trip up a ladder or that is on most of the time, I recommend one of the higher brand mates or the CREE series instead. Of note, these bulbs are a bit low on energy usage--8.5 watts is low. No, you cannot dim this bulb, but in the closet I doubt you will need to dim the bulb. And, the low price point will enable you to replace that heat bulb incandescent bulb in the closet without spending too much money in the process.

Soft White without the yellow - A great bulb at an amazing price.
Installed these in a couple of rooms and after comparing the clarity of vision compared to the CFL replaced the remaining ones. The CFLs and some probably due to age were giving off a more yellow soft white and made things dull in appearance. These appeared to me to be a little whiter than the typical incandescent soft white as well which for me is a good thing. Still soft enough not to have the daylight kind of brightness which tends to be a little too much in most situations for daily lighting. Have many other LED bulbs in home as well and these compare to the most expensive ones I had bought. A great bulb and reasonably priced.

            Very hot Base
I got about 10 of these when they first had the introductory 2-pack for $4.97. They are pretty well-built for that price, and the light is virtually indistinguishable from an incandescent, except on some shades of blue that it seems to wash out.. The thing I really do not like about these bulbs is that the base gets almost instant-burn hot. As long as you're using them in ceiling fans or other applications where you're unlikely to touch the base, that is OK. Where I have noticed and been irritated by this is in my lamps. If I try to reach for the switch and miss, I often end up nearly burning myself on the base of this bulb. Just a touch better heat management would improve this bulb pretty dramatically and probably increase its lifespan as well. However, individually, they're now the same price as the new generation (as of Sept 2015) Cree bulb, which doesn't even get hot to the touch at all, and the Cree is rated for 30,000 hours, while this bulb is rated for 10,000. Though this bills you for less power, using 8.5W as opposed to the new Cree's 10W, but if you're buying 3 of these to get the same life, the savings are blown away by replacing the bulb even at the 2-pack price.

            Unbelievable price for this bulb
I converted my whole house to the CFLs a few years back and they just don't last so I bought these to replace a few and to my amazement they are awesome! The light comes on with no delay just like an incandescent bulb and they only use 8.5 watts. I was so impressed that I went back and bought 10 packs to change out the entire down stairs in my house. They are so cool when lit so you save there and the a/c doesn't need to kick as often. Unbelievable. I'm going back tomorrow to buy more because at $2.50 each I will put them in my rental too.

            Great LED light bulb!
This bulb is very bright. I had some decorative 40w bulbs that I replaced with these 60w LED bulbs. I found two of the LED bulbs (8.5 w each, 17w total) were much brighter than four of the old ones (4 x 40w = 160w) I was replacing. I like the color also. A "warm" incandescent light would be fine, but these seemed to give a very nice "pure" white (i.e., not warm "yellow" and not cool "blue") that I like a lot. My wife likes the fact that she can now see better to put her make up on and that she can tell true colors better. I like the fact that it saves a lot of power. Great product. Plus you cannot beat the 2/$5 special buy that I got them for.

            Total Insanity
I used to light my house by way of candlelight, but I picked up one of these packages at Homey's, called an electrician and he wired my house up for these modern technology items. When I came home that night, I didn't see a flickering candle in my window - instead, there were rays of light beaming out from all windows, lighting up the night's sky. I'm hooked! Never again will I use any other source of light!

            Nice Bulb
I purchased a couple of these because of the price. $2.50 per bulb cannot be beat, especially when the first ones I purchased were twenty dollars each. No weird blue light, they seem to produce the normal color we are all used to with very little heat and they will last a lot longer.

            Incredible Bulb, Beyond Incredible Value
Summary first: Unless you need your bulb to be dimmable or need to place it in a fixture with very limited airflow, this should absolutely be your go-to 800 lumen bulb. IMHO, it has NO competition on the value front. 1) I'm convinced that you get every single one of the 800 lumens they claim for this bulb. These are much brighter than the compact florescent they replaced in our house. 2) I've seen some comments that are the equivalent of, "These have a short lifespan, they will only last half as long as LED bulbs that sell for four times as much money." Well, duh! Who would expect a design that allowed a 50 to 75% price cut to have no shortcomings? At today's price, this bulb's projected life is a match for any bulb at or near its price range. On a lifespan per dollar basis, I'm unaware of any bulbs of this brightness that are superior. 3) While color is subjective, these have a color balance similar to incandescents - a balance that seems to be the most popular of any. 4) The bulb itself is effectively shatterproof. I doubt that you are strong enough to throw one of these bulbs hard enough to get it to shatter. I was curious about how they were constructed and had a heck of a time getting the bulb portion off. (Getting inside took a drill, some needle nose pliers and a lot of effort.) For those who are curious, the light is produced by eleven tiny LEDs.) 5) 8.5 watts is a new benchmark for an 800 lumen bulb. Competing LEDs use between 9.5 an 11 watts, competing compact florescents between 12.5 and 14 watts and competing incandescents between 50 and 60 watts. 6) I find the light pattern to be as omni-directional as any of the competition. ... I love this bulb! I strongly suspect that you will too.

            Great bargain
I purchased three 2-packs on 8/17/15. I replaced lights in three table lamps (two CFL and one incandescent), and used the other three for a ceiling fixture that hangs over my kitchen table (this had incandescent bulbs in it, which REALLY warmed the area when the light was on for an extended time). 1. The color is great! Much warmer than CFLs I've had. It gives off a warm glow that is very similar to my incandescent bulbs, but without the heat. 2. There is a slight buzzing noise if you put your ear close to the bulb when it is on. Not sure if this will cause problems long term or not. If these bulbs fail, I will come back and edit this post to reflect that. 3. The cost - it's a bargain, assuming they continue to work long term. 4. When you flip the switch, they instantly light up (I cannot say this about previous LED bulbs I've purchased) and they are instantly at full brightness (I cannot say this about CFLs I've owned). Overall, a winner in my book. The only thing to test now is longevity. I'll report back if/when they fail.

a lot brighter than normal soft white but in a GOOD way.
i started replacing our older bulbs with led bulbs in order to save money on electricity. so far these seem to be a lot brighter and the fact that they do not product any heat is a major plus especially with this texas heat. we'll see how long they last but so far so good!
