The latest in post protection! These post protectors far exceed any concrete, foam, or other method of post hole fill. Just drill out weep holes, slide on and attach to post with included lag bolts and set in hole; preferably on top of a footer pad.

I misunderstood the description on your web page of the item I ordered. I was interested in buying the posts not post protectors. I don't remember whether or not the heading said "protector". When they arrived they were definitely not posts so I asked to have them returned.

Totally worth the money! Current wood treatment isn't a long term solution for below grade applications, so these sleeves solve that problem. I put them on my posts and then drilled a 1/2" hole and inserted a 1' long piece of rebar for uplift protection, then caulked the hole. Buried in concrete.

Met my expectations
This protector arrived pretty quickly. To better understand the instructions, I called the number listed on the insert. The nice gentleman who answered was a clear expert in posts and protectors. He was very helpful. The sleeve installed quickly and the set screws were easily installed after pilot holes were drilled. The heavy duty sleeve material I expect will hold up well over time.

Worked for Me!
I had to rebuild a rotting 6x6 cedar mailbox post by scabbing on a pressure treated wood base made out of 5/4 stock onto a heavily rotted cedar post. The cedar post was very expensive to replace, After adding the pressure treated wood to the cedar that remained, I then covered the rebuilt base with this product and it worked perfectly. I dug a new hole, since the old hole still had a concrete anchor. I backfilled with a sand-gravel mix tamped around the rebuilt post and protector. The corrugations on the outside of the protector seemed to do well to anchor the post. I expect that this protector will provide many years of service and in addition, I easily trimmed the protector to stick about 8 inches above ground in order to protect the cedar post from further weathering at the ground line and to reduce damage from the lawnmower and weedeater.

Help prevent rot
The protectors get warped in shipment but once warmed in the sun they fit the post snugly. A little pricey for what ya get but what price can you put on protecting your posts from rot! Each protector comes with instructions and a pack of bolts and sealing washers to secure them to the post.

Great Idea for Fence Durability
Product arrived properly packaged (although was delivered to one of my neighbors instead of me). It is exactly as described in size, shape, and color, is lightweight and easy to install. They slip over the bottom of the fence post before you plant it into the ground. I drilled out the drain holes and put gravel in the bottom of the hole for drainage before installing the post and backfilling with concrete. I installed the lag bolts above ground level so the posts can be easily removed in the future if needed. I also caulked around the top seam to minimize water infiltration, although that was not specified in the instructions. I would assume that this protector will extend the life of the posts as advertised, and wish I had know about it before I replaced a number of rotted posts on an older fence in another part of my yard.

Received wrong size but still a good product
I ordered 6x6 protectors but received 4x6. I was still able to use them and they should work well based on what I've read about them

Post protector
We are using the post protector on 6 x 6 posts to brace our picnic shelter in a flood zone. We feel the added durability will better protect our investment. We are very pleased with the ease of use and the overall enhanced look to our shelter.

Unimpressed and disappointed. Protectors are good idea, but poorly executed.
Bought 3 of these to 'experiment' with for new 36x72 pole barn, with hopes of using the protectors for all of the posts. Per manufacturer instructions, trimmed 6x6 ends to fit into tubes, but even doing so, 2 of the 3 were so warped from manufacturing and/or shipping (open ends & half tube were diamond shaped (not square)) that they cracked along seams when bending back to square to put on the 6x6's. It was cold out (about 45 degrees, but still way above freezing), for the price would expect better. Wasn't worth driving the 20 miles each way to return the 2 bad protectors. Also, even with use of shrink wrap around top of protector to 6x6 that water got into the boot. Company says to drill out 'drainage holes' on dimples, but we have a very high water table in winter (what's point of the protector if you are going to allow water to enter & be against the wood??? Ended up using the 'protectors' for some of the inside posts of building to reduce chance of water getting into the tubes. Found it easier to coat the bottom 4 ft of the remaining poles (and 2 damaged "protectors") with heavy duty roofing cement, two coats & let dry. No water against post & it is not that much more time to coat the posts than to do all the preparation work required to 'fit' the posts into the protectors & lag on. Also, the roofing cement is way cheaper; I've used the cement approach on countless fence posts & another small post building over past 10 years & cement is holding up just fine.

"Socks" for Your PT Posts
The days of 'buttering' your posts with Creosote are long-gone. And, if you want to save on concrete and those tubes, these thick-gauge socks [I measure 5.50 x 5.75" inside dimensions] will interest you.
Installation goes like this: [1] dig hole about 18" diameter, down past frost line; [2] pour code-complying concrete footer, about 6-8" thick; [3] once set, drop in assembled post [see below] and backfill with stone [to provide for drainage of any moisture that enters the top of the 'sock'. Note: unless for aesthetics, there's no reason to add soil as backfill; whether you do or not, it's going to be a good idea to add some weedblock type fabric to prevent soil from washing into the stone backfill [and 'blinding it' over time.]
"Assembly" of the post is straight-forward. Apply a 'sliding agent', e.g. dishwashing liquid, over the post to facilitate insertion and slide the post into the sock. Secure post to socks with provided galv lag screws and washers. Drill drainage hole[s] at bottom [instructions say they're marked, but mine weren't].
Product fit well and installed with no problems. I have not had it long enough to comment on long term durability, but it appears well made and meets my expectations for the product. I have seen many posts without such protection where the only rot was in a zone 6" above and below grade, I expect this product will help address that issue.

Post Protector
I wanted to build a pole barn and was reluctant to bury my posts in the ground. I found this product on the computer and thought to myself this is exactly what I need.I would highly recommend this product and company. I emailed the company and the next morning I had a reply and a phone call to boot. Ken called me and insured me that his product POST PROTECTOR would be on its way that very day 2 days later it was in my yard this was one of the best companies that I have ever dealt with . The product is easy to install and gave me some peace of mind knowing my post will last many more years.

Best pole protection ever!
After much research I decided to purchase this product, so glad I did. Easy to install and provides the needed protection that I was looking for. Customer service through the company was excellent! Every contractor that I have used in helping to build my pole barn has been impressed with the product and plan on offering it to their customers.

Great Option to Protect Posts Installed in the Ground
I recently built a pole barn and was looking to add more rot and decay protection to the pressure treated posts that were set into the ground. Compared to other options, the Post Protectors are more cost effective and simple to install. Concrete pillars are expensive due to the labor required to install them. A solid buried post is also stronger than the weak joint of a post bolted to the top of the pillar. The various "wrapped" posts on the market are more expensive than the Post Protectors. The sleeves are simple to install. Just slide them on and install the lag bolts to provide uplift protection. If you're having a contractor do the work, just have them slip them on before they set the posts. Quick, simple, and economical.

Not heavy duty for sure
Construction is similar to a cheap plastic garbage can. Not even as thick a a Rubber Maid. Makes you wonder if the plastic will degrade before the post does. I cannot see why the product is not made from a heavier type of plastic. I would have thought it would have been at least 1/4 inch thick. Not even close.

Not worth the money
I recently purchased 12 - 6x6x42 , the quality control is poor to say the best. Great idea, poor product . I had to heat(in the sun) to get them to be pliable enough to put on, one side went from 1/8" to almost 1/4 "thick so they were angled on the post -molding of the plastic I guess. I would not purchase again-- spent over three hundred dollars and I wish they were back where they came from.
