We understand the importance of having the batteries last in your home’s environment, so these support calls are not necessary. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information to resolve your concern.

To get the most life out of your batteries, Ring recommends using standard alkaline batteries in your Ring Smart Lighting devices. Rechargeable batteries will work in your Ring Smart Floodlight , though they may not last as long as alkaline batteries. Heavy-duty batteries should not be used in the Ring device. Lithium batteries will also work in your Ring Step Light and are recommended when the weather is cold. The specific type of battery our Ring Smart Lights use is called a Bottom Top 18650 3.7V Lithium-ion Battery. Customers can expect about a year of battery life when they keep the brightness at 50% and have the lights activate in 30 second intervals.

Based on your review, it seems like your Ring Smart Light Floodlight is not working as intended. If this is the case, we recommend checking a couple of things. There are several possibilities. Check the following items.

Check your batteries.

Check your Auto Shut Off control in your device controls in the Ring app. You may have incorrectly set the time on the control.

Take yourself out of the equation. Leave the area for 10 minutes to give the lights time to reset without you triggering them and then return and check the lights. Having peace of mind that your Ring Bridge has a strong connection is very important. As consumers we expect a product to perform at its best. Please know that we are here to take a deep look into everything and ensure that this gets resolved quickly. The Ring Bridge is designed to work in many environments to provide you with peace of mind and security. If you are having connection issues with your Bridge, you might want to try a reset.

If you try to reset your device, be aware of the following time frames:
Holding the button down for one to five seconds: This should force the Bridge into setup mode.
Holding the button down for six to 10 seconds: This is a power cycle/reset - This will cause the device to forget any of the settings previously saved and will force you to re-set up all the lights.

If you’re still having issues, try resetting your modem and/or router. To do this, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or model from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait 15-20 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait a minute or two for the internet to be restored.
Confirm that your internet has been restored by connecting another device to your wifi network and trying to access a website, then repeat the setup process.
