I had been plagued with ravens seeing their reflection in my basement windows and other methods had not worked (aluminum foil strips and reflective strips for birds). So, I used this spray paint on the windows after taping off the window frames. It worked great! No more ravens tearing out the screens! Success! I highly recommend this spray paint!

It works, but...
I have double glass doors at my front entryway and I wanted to add privacy. The doors already had a 'frosted' design on them, but they were still very see-through. That said, this product does not give a uniform application. Because my windows already had a design it is not terribly noticeable. However on a plain glass surface, the uneven application will be noticeable. I used the entire can to complete my doors and the result is what I was looking for. You cannot see through the doors at all (I checked at day and at night with the lights on). The fumes are very noxious. Please use this product with either a respirator, outside, or in a very well ventilated area. I opened every window/patio door in my house and the fumes were still strong. Also, this stuff gives off a TON of fine white dust. Cover your furniture and any nearby items before you begin spraying this product. I had a fine white dust on the floor that required lots of mopping to remove. Once the spraying is complete, running your hand over the glass will also produce white dust. I just applied the product last night, so tonight I will wipe the doors down with a dry cloth to remove some of the residue. I am not sure how well the product will hold up over time, so I may spray a sealant over it for added protection from scratches, etc. I scored this item with a 3 because it took a LOT of coats to produce the effect I was looking for, and with the fumes and dust, it was a hassle to complete. I'm happy with the results, though.

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are happy to hear your end results are what you desired. Please keep in mind that most spray paints do produce a spray mist or overspray. For this reason, we recommend covering the surrounding areas to protect it. We also recommend holding the can upright 10-16” from the surface and spraying in a steady back and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Be sure to keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying for even coverage.

Great Product and it's Easy to use!
We decided to use Rustoleum's Frosted Glass spray paint for our oval window in one of our bathrooms. We taped up the edges and the trim around the window, cleaned the window thoroughly with window cleaner, let it dry for 5 minutes and then started frosting. It was so easy! The spray paint smells terrible so make sure you have a nose mask and good ventilation. We did 4 light coats on our window and allowed each coat to dry for 10 minutes before applying the next coat. The window looks absolutely perfect. Tomorrow we're going to do a really cool frosted design on our sliding glass doors for privacy from our neighbors. Great product!

Absolutely LOVE this product!
I don't understand the negative reviews. I followed directions and got complete coverage in 2 coats. I switched from film because my dog would scratch it off when she saw people thru the film. This is a much cheaper alternative and none has worn off. Been up 6 months and still looks great.

Saved me $700!
Very easy to apply. Be sure to tape and tarp the entire area around the window. There are a LOT of fumes, so be sure to ventilate the best you can and wear a mask. Take short bursts, wait, do again. Otherwise there will be residual dust that makes it hard to breathe.

Good product at a good price
We bought this to use on glass cabinet doors in our kitchen. I bought a stencil and used the Rustoleum product to frost the glass. You definitely have to set the doors up vertically before spraying since they can get dripped on if the glass is horizontal. The coverage was good. However, the odor was so bad that I had to buy a respirator to use when I sprayed. I had 9 pieces of glass, and I did up to 8 coats on each piece, so I was spraying a long time. The smell is horribly noxious. When I was finished, I decided to use artist's matte medium (bought at a craft store), which I brushed on with a narrow, foam roller, over all the glass I did, which took out the drip marks. If I had to do it over again, I just would've used the matte medium instead of the frosted spray paint since taking the glass outside to spray was inconvenient, and the odor was awful. I don't notice any foul odor with the matte medium. But this is a good product which can give you quick, good results. In my pic that is attached, the left two doors have the Rustoleum Frosted Spray Paint + artist's matte medium, while the right two doors have just the Rustoleum spray paint. You can see the drip marks in the picture of the two doors on the right.

The Frost effect did not show up for hours, even though the can says it will after 10 minutes. At that time it was very faint and made any uneven sprays very obvious.

I frosted the inside glass of my French doors. It turned out good. I used the entire can. It was the look I was trying to achieve. I am able to see shadows of people or objects from inside to outside but you are not able to see inside from outside. It left a white residue everywhere. That was a big cleanup. But I love the look. Make sure it is well vented wherever you use it.

Let's see if we can clear things up. After applying Rust-Oleum Specialty Frosted Glass Spray it takes at least 10 minutes for the frosted effect to appear. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

Splatters. You only get one shot. Glass ruined.
Two different bottle splattered and ruined my fireplace glass panel. Followed all instructions, shook can for 2 minutes and frequently while in use, kept can upright; finger was centred on the nozzle. The first time I scraped and acetone'd it off, major hassle, went back to return and bought a second bottle. Same problem, got about half the panel covered and splat! Same issue. I’ve spray painted 100s of times over the years and have my spray technique down good. You only get one shot, if it screws up you’re hooped, can’t sand and re-do like normal paint. Even with acetone, removal was difficult/not complete and glass looked bad/hazy, I had no choice but to remove and replace. What a wast of time and money.
