Instant hot water!
Love it! Instant hot water, works better than electric water heater in the house. This went in my shop for washing poodles :) did have to upgrade electrical and have a dedicated 50 amp breaker.

Fairly underpowered water heater
I don't know how another electric tankless heater might compare. I can't used a heater that pulls more power--not enough supply from the panel--but this thing has to be throttled all the way down in order to produce hot water on demand. Mostly it just passes cold water through.

Good hot water!
Worked as advertized. Provides plenty of hot water for a sink or even a shower. BUT, remember I live in south Texas where the water is not that cold to start with.

Very Good Product
Hooked into a small apartment with 1 occupant. Although it was easy to install I did run into 1 problem. When the shower was first used the water would go from cold to very hot over and over the entire time it was in use. Called customer service but they were no help as to why this could happen. He suggested not enough flow. I tested with only hot water and it would stay hot the whole time even with very little flow. At time of installation The splice from the cold supply was hooked to the water heater with only @ 5 in connection and then a short run to the shower hot valve. I changed the supply line to and from the heater and added about 9 feet between the input and the hot valve. Now with the hot valve on @ 3/4 flow the temp can be brought down to the correct temp by adding cold. It works great and I can't wait to see the savings on my electric bill.

Perfect for my rental suite!
I converted a small carriage house to a rental suite. Space is at a premium and I didn't want a hot water tank wasting a bunch of space. Did my research and decided on the Stiebel Eltron point of use on demand electric heater - don't have natural gas or propane. Installation was a snap! With a little tweaking of the set points of the heater and the restricter have endless hot water for the shower and galley kitchen. Great solution for a great price. Very impressed. Also installed a larger unit in my house - also very impressed.

Great product for the price!
It's actually worth more than what I paid for it, but am happy with the product. It gives a nice flow of hot water. We're using it connected to a kitchen sink and two bathroom sinks in our concession stand. We've never had hot water in this location before, and everybody is pleased with it so far. I did not install it, I had an electrician install because it took a 50amp breaker and I think it was either 6 or 8 gauge wire in conduit. Adjusting the temp was a snap.

Does the job
First, we have a whole house tankless so I knew what to expect. I put this one under the kitchen sink, and will be putting two more for the bathroom (a smaller one) and the washer. The unit goes in easy and does the job. We get hot water in about 5 seconds, and I expect a lot faster in the bathroom as the kitchen has a pull out nozzle, and so nearly 8' of pipe between the water heater and the output. My flow is was about 1.5gpm and its dropped to about 1.25gpm. Right now, the cold water is super cold at 40F. At full flow, the water is warm. Nice for hand washing. To make it hotter, we simply turn down the faucet a little and it gets quite warm, as warm as I'd want it. Here's a few comments and suggestions (if Stiebel reads these): 1) it'd be much nicer if the water connections were on the top. These things are designed to go under the sink, so having to get a longer flex-pipe to go to the bottom simply makes for a longer delay for warm water. 2) there's no clamp for the wiring, just a plastic hole and rubber grommet. I ran 6 gauge cable through liquid-tite conduit and didn't have any way of attaching the conduit on the water heater side other than just wedging it in the hole. Hopefully the inspector won't get on my case about it. 3) fair warning: and this is simply something that happens with electric tankless units: if you turn the hot water off, then wait a short bit, say under a few minutes, then turn it on again, a few seconds after it starts you'll get a pulse of really hot water. This is because when you shut off the water, the heating element is still hot and heats the now stationary water hotter than normal.
