well worth the money

The Sun Joe splitter is very well made but quite heavy to move around - needs bigger wheels - only used it a couple times and already leaking hydraulic fluid - will watch it closely if gets worse will send it back. Splits most wood except something with "knots" in it - wouldn't split those. The people delivering the splitter put the box by front door then drove away so fast I didn't even get out the door to check if the splitter was ok or not - did NOT like that !

It makes light work of splitting logs. Love it!

I'm very pleased with it- do wish it took longer logs than 18" and that the wheels were larger so it would be a little easier to move around. Easy to work and it sure beats the axe

Very happy. Lightened my work load A LOT.

It met my expectations but it stopped working after 2 days. The company was very helpful and sent a replacement overnight with a UPS lable to ship back the original.

Works very well, cheaper than electric, and not noisy like an engine.

SImple, powerful, and safe to use alone. I looked at powered splitters but chose the manual/hydraulic model because I can leave the splitter out in the yard near to the wood and simply cover it up with a piece of old tarp all winter. My wood delivery was of red oak and maple was ok but too many were too large to use in the residential sized fire place. These I stacked in with the rest in a hurry to finish before winter. I go out two or three times a week and crack and stack the pieces that come to the top and need attention. Good stretch of the upper arms and shoulders but not a real work out. I can fill a wheel barrow in a half hour. The hydraulics do the heavy work. Much easier on my back when splitter is raised on some cement blocks. Only real complaint is the too small wheels attached. Like others I want to replace with larger wheels from a lawn mower which will let me roll the unit across rough surfaces to new locations. Sun Joe should sell an upgrade and make some money. Otherwise love to crack and stack.

wanted to have something a woman could use to split logs so that I can get logs ready for the fire without asking my husband to do it all the time. I have bad shoulders, so I can’t swing an ax, and don’t feel comfortable doing that anyway! Once you learn how to use this splitter PROPERLY, it’s really quite simple! I use it to split my wood all the way to kindling!!! I love this splitter! Would highly recommend. And there’s a great YouTube video a fella has put out to use it. The instructions weren’t as clear as his demo!

would like it better if it could be adjusted for smaller length wood...trying to make kindling.

This product works exactly as advertised. I am able to split rounds from 4” to 20” width. Note that the track is narrow so you need a good flat surface on either side so it doesn’t wobble. I also found that it needs to be level when not in use. Mine was on a mild downhill slope and leaked a little hydraulic fluid. The poles are easy to use: left side moves the press quickly and right side moves it incrementally. There is some arm and back work involved so don’t think it won’t require a little muscle. In just a few weekends, I have split more rounds than I split in 6-months using a sledge hammer and wedge. I am splitting all pine right now and will be curious how this works with oak and other hard woods. Great product.

it works pretty good, Make sure the butt end of your log is cut off flush or the ram try's to move one way or the other this tends to bend the strap that guides the ram, The strap is weak but works just make sure the log is cut off flush I cannot stress this enough.

This log splitter has helped me split numerous cords of firewood in the time I’ve had it. I’ve split log rounds up to 20” in diameter and 20” in length, and the unit seems capable of handling even larger rounds than that. Unlike splitting rounds with a splitting maul or axe, this unit allows you to make clean, even, uniform cuts which makes stacking the firewood easier. And more importantly, this unit saves your arms and back from the exertion of a maul or axe. My wife is 5’1, 98 pounds, 67 years old, and can easily use this tool. And yes, I am a REAL customer and this is a REAL review!

Bought one of these a couple months ago and it works pretty well. You can split some large hardwood logs with it by starting on one side and flipping over to the other to complete the split. Good workout too
