Great screws to fasten my fence boards to an aluminum frame

It’s possible that I did something wrong but I tried using these to secure wood shelves into metal studs. THEY DO NOT WORK. As soon as the screws made it through the metal stud, they shot straight back with no grip on the stud. The only thing holding the wood to the wall was the drywall

Worked well when securing new deck boards to an old trailer.

There was only 31 screws in in this 40ct box…

The screws worked just as described. Went through the wood and into the metal with no problem. I was putting 3/4 plywood on my trailer deck.

1st time using these, they self tapped easily. I used them to build a privacy fence gate with a metal frame and cedar pickets, they blend in nicely

These screws easily drilled through 1/8” thick steel. Very happy with the product.

Planned to use these to attach a wood 1x4 to a sheet metal wall. The wings made a hole in the sheet metal larger than the thread diameter, so there was no bite at all--the screw just pulled straight out. Two stars rather than one because I could imagine that going into much thicker metal the wings would break off before the screw reached full depth, but these are useless for sheet metal.

Great design idea, but not to be used for lighter gauge metal/medium gauge aluminum. Bought them to attach pressure treated 2x4s to existing aluminum deck railing posts. Problem is that the “wings” just after the drill bit section are wider than the threads. When the drill bit drills the hole, wings ream it out wider than the threads, the threads just slip straight thru hole. Assume these are designed to break off in heavier gauge steel, but they are strong enough to drill thru aluminum.

Not made for universal metal application. The self-drilling creates holes larger than the threads, so these screws do not catch.

Pretty good but would t drill through 3/8 metal, it just melted the tips
