Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

Is there a sale on shelves and storage bins?

Garage Storage Savings are here, so start shopping now. From tool chests to garage shelving, we've got bargains on everything you want for a neatly arranged garage. Shop the sales from June 22nd through August 18th, and make this the year you organize the basement and the garage.

Does The Home Depot have back-to-school supplies for classrooms?

When you've gotten your classroom decor at the teacher store and just need the basics, come see us. From maintenance like office supplies to the fun stuff for art projects, we've got it. Writing utensils and Command hooks? Check. Hot glue sticks for glue guns? We have those, too. Find storage containers to keep it all organized, cleaning supplies, and more paper towels and tissues than you could possibly need — because you'll end up using them all. We love our educators, so stop in to get any missing school supplies.

How can I prepare my home for summer?

Be certain your home is set for summer temperatures by replacing or repairing faulty components of your home. If moisture gets inside the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On your house's exterior, inspect roof shingles or metal roofs for rust or damage that may let water leak in. Keep gutters clear of debris to prevent water overflow from seeping beneath your shingles when storms arrive. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be changed out if they're in poor condition.

What kinds of moving boxes do you carry?

Make storage or moving easier by picking up a mix of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you've been searching for, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it safely. Remember to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those as well.

Is it good to have a generator at home?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with tornados, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, or blizzards, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When searching for generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.

Do you have wired or wireless doorbell cameras?

Enjoy peace of mind, privacy, and safety with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole or window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you speak to whoever is at the door via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.

When is the Home Depot Kids Workshop in August?

Stop by the Kids Workshop to encourage future builders! Give your children a taste of the joy of building with this rocket game. Constructing a small wooden spaceship is a great way to hone fine motor skills, listening abilities, and creativity. This cute kids' project is happening on 8/1/2026, from 9–12 noon or while supplies last.

      Garden Center Gate hours
The gate at the Garden center does not open the same time as the store. If you buy some garden items (mulch, plants, etc.) you have to bring them inside the store for check out.

        Complicated issued handled very well
I ordered online, had it delivered, had to return it and get a different one, have the first one picked up and the second one delivered. If this sounds complicated, it wasn't. The employees at East Baton Rouge were very patient, polite, and helpful thru out the entire process. I highly recommend the East Baton Rouge Home Depot.

Well laid out store mostly disinterested unhelpful employees
If you know exactly what you want and can locate it in the store self checkout will minimize your interface with employees. You can’t depend on inventory listed on the web site. Few if any store employees are willing or able to assist. Substantial additional training is needed here

Dryer never come to my home.
Home Depot recommended that I cancel my order since they could not give me a date or time for delivery. Delivery wanted to come after the delivery gate was close. Delivwery called and said that Home Depot did not tell them that the gate closes at 5:00 PM. I told sales to make sure you tell them to schedule delivery before the gate closes at 5:00 PM

Great store - every time I visit!
I visit this store a few times a month for projects around the house and yard. I’m an engineer, so I plan and I have high expectations. When younger I managed a retail store, so I know what it takes to do it successfully. The management of this store does an amazing job of assuring that the inventory is adequate and in good condition. The store is kept clean and orderly every day. The employees are always busy addressing the above tasks, but they take the time to proactively find out if I need help. Anytime I do ask for help, the employee does a great job of satisfying my needs. They usually are able to help me find a solution. These observations apply to the last 3 or 4 years. Before that the store was average. Now, it is very above average. This is a reflection of great management!!! This is the store on Highland Rd. in Baton Rouge.
