Just had the rudest experience with an emphasis on the paint department.
I came in to order a pellet stove since HD does not have a way to use Military Discount on line. There was quite a bit of confusion as whether HD offered a Military Discount to other than Active Duty Service Members. I was given it after expressing my confusion and dismay at what was explained as recent change. Many competitors are closer, and some give the 10% discount everyday, to include online, but I have gone out of my way to use HD because of my previous experience with them. While I don't shop just based on a Military Discount, it will make it harder to justify driving another 15 miles to use HD, when I can get the same thing, with a discount, closer to my home. The people here were great and very helpful, but HD as a corporation seems to be confused about THEIR Military Discount program, and refuse to post it for public consumption and reference.
Alan and Zach in the rental department did a great job repairing my snow blower. Even though they said it would take some time, they were able to get it to me ahead of schedule in time for the impending snow season. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely use their service again and recommend them to my friends. Great Job Guys!
A large quantity of washers to select from. Assistance was available and sale was accomplished in a timely manner.
Store is always clean and fully stocked. Associates are also friendly and very helpful.
The customer service at this home depot is spotty. I've had good service some times, and very poor service at other times. Recent example... I went to this Home Depot to get a key made. An older gentleman tried to help me. He was friendly, but he admitted he didn't know the machine very well. So, together we tried to figure out the key machine. Well, that key didn't work when I got home. So, I came back to try a second time, but this time a young woman approached me at the key machine. Her attitude was completely different. She was not friendly at all, and did not try to help me. She too did not know how to work the machine, but she wouldn't admit it, and instead told me that my key type wasn't "in the system". She never volunteered to find an associate for me who could help, nor did she greet me at the beginning of the encounter or at the end. She spoke to me like she could not care less. Much worse than the first gentleman, who was friendly and at least tried. Unfortunately, I have experienced this wildly inconsistent customer service at this location before. It is a roll of the dice whether you get a good customer experience here or not. This tells me that there is probably an issue with hiring, training, or a combination of the two. That goes back to management. I will go to other locations first, then this one as a last resort.
Outstanding store the associates are always friendly and knowledgeable. I have shopped at various other stores, but this one is the best. Well stocked and the prices are the best.
